Well, they obviously are the same design as the wheels we've known for awhile. But, it's becoming increasingly clear that, in this application, they have what we might call a satin-gray patina; and to my eyes they look better for it.

Like GoPackGo I went to cars.com and checked white Civic coupes -- except, for "All Miles." There are six Touring models listed as "taffeta white" and at least 20 EX-L and EX-T shown, also, as "taffeta . . ." All of this makes me wonder if it's actually possible that the factory itself is...

This may indeed not be a dealership issue. But somebody there must know what you ordered. Somebody there handed you the keys with the "taffeta white" identification. Part of your problem may be that the source you cite is incorrect. The offset for 2015 Civic si rims is 47, not 42.
