  1. The Type R should not be compared to Focus RS, change my mind.

After reading 2 pages of responses, none are convincing enough to change my mind. Please keep in mind that my response assumes the condition that the vehicles are 100% OEM factory specifications. Here is the bottom line comparison I made to determine how these cars should not be compared to...
  2. The Type R should not be compared to Focus RS, change my mind.

I am completely annoyed by people who pit the Focus RS against the Type R. Why are we comparing FWD vs AWD? The Type R is in it's own category - top of the line FWD car. The Focus RS should be compared to other AWD cars like the Subaru WRX STI Oranges and apples comparisons are really dumb...
  3. Did I overpay for my CTR? What did you pay and final price once done paying?

On my Type R, it was: Vehicle Sale Price: $35,795 ( has destination fee added to MSRP) Document Processing Charge: $80 Stargard Lifetime Vehicle Theft: $500 Autobutler Wax Service 2x a year for 5 years: $695 10 Year Bumper to Bumper Warranty: $2,411 GAP Insurance on sale of $35,695: $895 3 Year...
  4. Type R parts on an SI

Any modification to intake/exhaust on a car voids warranty. I do not recommend it unless you have money. If you had money, you would have just bought the Type R. If you are worried about the cost of making your Si look like a Type R, again, you should just buy the Type R since it's clear ya'll...
  5. CTR seat replacement options?

If you are asking fitment issues or any direct swap issues with these seats, please consult the Honda parts department. I doubt you will get as solid of an answer as mine considering the amount of teens who are bashing your question. You can also consult the parts department on their return...
  6. Impressive gains with Hondata and tune

Crazy how a tune changes everything. I am pretty sure that the Honda dealership can see the tunes on the factory computer logs when they are diagnosing the car. This would void warranties for sure.
  7. Civic Type R vs Civic Sport Touring

I wonder if you can fit that engine cover on Non-type Rs.
  8. Civic Type R vs Civic Sport Touring

The spoilers are different for a reason. If you make replicas, they must be at least 30% different. Otherwise patent laws kick in. Too bad you can't buy the spoilers from Honda at the moment, they are purposely suppressing the sale of the spoiler (allegedly).
  9. Will a type R exhaust fit Si Sedan?

Of course it will fit. You just need to buy the muffler. It may not clear the black under trim on the civic Si Sedan. However, you can simply modify that as well. I plan to do the same. But the exhaust is a little over a grand. It does not provide much more power, certainly not worth paying the...
  10. FINALLY! My New White Si Sedan

OEM splashguards can work. You just need to modify them. Use a dremel to modify them. And i think the lip is made of polypropylene, same material as side skirts.
  11. FINALLY! My New White Si Sedan

Make sure to put the Type R lip on your car and the OEM side skirts. It's fairly inexpensive (under $600USD). I will be getting mine on my White Si Sedan soon. The rear bumper is an issue for me, there aren't any rear bumpers available that go with the side OEM side skirts at the moment.
  12. window guards ?

Man, those splashguards look horrible on this car. Glad i didn't get them.
  13. Underrated (MPG)

For the record, my first 5 tanks filled with the Si was chevron premium. I received the same MPG regardless.
  14. Underrated (MPG)

Using 91 octane vs 87 octane does not affect MPG in anyway. Since premium gas has a higher octane rating than midgrade or regular gas, it produces a little more power when burnt. Designed for performance cars with large, powerful engines, premium also helps minimize the risk of preignition...
  15. Underrated (MPG)

Most of my driving is in-town. I get a measly 28.9mpg. Sucks. 2017 Si Sedan on 87. I also got the highest at 29.5 at 89 octane. All on Chevron gas. Less than 2k miles on the car
  16. Civic Hatchback Rear Bumper on Civic Si Sedan?

Has anyone tried converting the rear Civic Si Sedan bumper to the Civic Hatch bumper? The reason I ask is because there are more available OEM rear-end ground effect options for Civic Hatchback models.
  17. Replica Type R Wing. When & where?

You need to make sure that you use proper sealing at the base to keep the spoiler from reverberating. It should seat properly at the base. If you just drilled holes and tightened with washers, you did it wrong. Otherwise, you will over-tighten and snap that bolt.

  20. Should I trade my Sport Hatch in for an Si Coupe?

I bought the Si Sedan in white. For this hot weather (Sacramento) it helps. I also enjoy the black/white/red accent. I came from a RWD racing community and now I am glad I went with Honda (my worst enemy) due to the deal I got for the Si Sedan. $30,000 for a 10 year bumper-to-bumper warranty...
