  1. Farewell Civic, Hello Tesla

The time has come to move on from my Civic. It has served me well for over 90k miles and has been the most fuel efficient vehicle I have ever owned (35.7 mpg lifetime avg). It rode smooth and really had no complaints. Except that pesky dash rattle that the dealer or I could never solve. The...
  2. Loud high pressure fuel pump

I have been struggling with rattles on this car, but the latest seems to be the high pressure fuel pump getting louder. I have 33k miles on the car in the last 12 months. Anyone else experiencing this? If it wasn't for the rattles in this car, the NVH is actually decent.
  3. Thin sheet metal, easy damage

My car got caught in a hailstorm over the weekend, and my car was one of the worst damaged in the parking lot. This confirms my initial hunches, honda went extra thin with the sheet metal to save weight and cost. Hopefully the repairs won't be too difficult. (Image is reflection of overhead...

  5. 18k mile Fuel Economy Analysis

After 18,335 miles, I wanted to share the data I have collected so far about my 2016 Civic Touring. I have been tracking my fuel economy on fuelly.com (see link in sig) and I currently have the most fuel-ups, 68, and 2nd most recorded miles (jdude250 has the most). I don't drive easy, if I'm...
  6. 17k miles $1k in gas

I'm over 17,200 miles and just under $1,000 in gas. Just an interesting fact that seems hard to believe.
  7. Little annoying things

After 16k miles in my touring, I have come across some little annoyances that I have listed below. I still find it to be a great car, especially for the price. Fuel economy is fantastic. LED headlights are amazing. Decently quiet for its class. 1. Siri is really loud when she speaks but...
  8. Engine sound...

After 15k miles... This is my best comparison of the engine sound while accelerating.
  9. Oil change 10,147 miles

Maintenance minder showed the warning for an oil change at 10,147 miles. By far the longest I have ever driven on a factory oil fill.
  10. Civic vs. ZL1

I know... But I was considering cars similar to this before picking the civic. I may have adulted better by choosing the civic, but this is tempting! It may end up being the weekend toy...
  11. Filled tires with 78% nitrogen

I recieved a great deal to fill my tires with the 78% grade nitrogen. It was much cheaper than the 100% nitrogen Highly recommended!
  12. Random: HVAC + Siri

I noticed that if you hit the voice command button on the steering wheel and you climate control is on Auto, then the fans are turned down while it listens for your command. It's not noticeable unless the fans are blowing harder, but was interesting that they went to that level of detail. (Yet...
  13. Loud HVAC on high fan setting

It was quite cold this morning and on the auto temperature setting it decided to crank the fan speed up (all quite acceptable up to this point), however, the noise generated was more obnoxious than any other car I have owned. It almost sounds like a baffle is halfway closed making a slight...
  14. Winter Wheels / Tires - Everything you want to know

I have purchased a winter wheel and tire set and wanted to highlight a few things that would be good to know for other potential buyers. My objective was to get an inexpensive yet still visually appealing set of winter wheels and tires. (sorry steel wheel guys!). I hope you will find some of...
  15. SiriusXM, No Sound

Sounds like I may be have a similar but slightly different issue than some folks. 2016 Touring model SiriusXM doesn't play sound, the screen shows what song is playing as if everything were normal. Plus, it still beeps when I select a different preset. Playing music from my iphone or AM/FM...
