The R is just one of those cars that is going to have issues like this and you either deal with it or don't. I've already bailed early on too many cars recently for similar issues so in order to not completely financially hamstring myself I'll be sticking around, but it's disappointing.

Poorly put together trim pieces - You can see gaps around my gauge trim and the locking tabs are visible. Similar story with the Steering wheel audio controls on the left - It doesn't sit flush against the wheel, rattles at certain times, and you can see under it to the locking "peg" or tabs...

I admittedly only spent a short time searching for this - but most of what I've found has been for wholesale steering wheel replacement. My Type R came with a pretty poorly put together interior - the trim around the gauges isn't seated properly, rattles already, and a poorly put together...

Fears somewhat confirmed then I guess - it's an issue on other cars, and just from it's nature I don't imagine a dealer being able to do anything about it. Nonetheless will hopefully get it in to be looked at in 2 weeks or so. About the only negative I have with car so far, so I'll hold out...

Don't know that its a diff noise. Really my first post doesn't quite describe the noise correctly. It's not a "buzz" or a "whine" - it's more like a very specific resonating frequency, like a tuning fork or something. Going to try to capture it on audio here at some point.

Yeah as long as the state isn't Massachusetts it appears fine. Mass doesn't give out or recognize Temporary plates from any state. As a result, it is not possible to take delivery of a Car in Massachusetts without registering it in Massachusetts and receiving Mass plates (at least legally)...

Not all states function this way. I know in Mass you have to physically take delivery of the car outside of the state to avoid their sales tax. However your post actually got me searching... and this may be an only Massachusetts thing. Seems that they don't issue Temporary plates of any kind...

Yeah sorry - New Hampshire has no sales tax whatsoever. Meant to include that detail but just skirted around it. Nearby Mass dealers will deliver to the State and bypass the Tax, but it still makes for a limited selection.

My MSRP search has started recently, but it's a tough battle for me - New Hampshire based purchaser for which an out of state MSRP purchase is not the same. Figure 2019 will come before anything close to MSRP shows up.
