  1. Metallic sound when decelerating

The R is just one of those cars that is going to have issues like this and you either deal with it or don't. I've already bailed early on too many cars recently for similar issues so in order to not completely financially hamstring myself I'll be sticking around, but it's disappointing.
  2. High Pitched Whine/Noise at Highway Cruising Speed?

Dealer wanted to have my Type R for a day to fit in a test drive to reproduce the issue, but I've been working long hours recently and with the one vehicle haven't had time to be without it. That being said, I know of at least one other Type R owner in my immediate area with the same issue that...
  3. What’s with all the used CTRs?

Poorly put together trim pieces - You can see gaps around my gauge trim and the locking tabs are visible. Similar story with the Steering wheel audio controls on the left - It doesn't sit flush against the wheel, rattles at certain times, and you can see under it to the locking "peg" or tabs...
  4. What’s with all the used CTRs?

With just a bit of time in the Type R (two or so weeks at this point) - the overall build quality and quality control is obviously lacking compared to other cars in the price point, but not necessarily similar-performance cars in that price point. Specifically, your generic 4 door $36k car...
  5. Steering Wheel Controls

I admittedly only spent a short time searching for this - but most of what I've found has been for wholesale steering wheel replacement. My Type R came with a pretty poorly put together interior - the trim around the gauges isn't seated properly, rattles already, and a poorly put together...
  6. High Pitched Whine/Noise at Highway Cruising Speed?

Fears somewhat confirmed then I guess - it's an issue on other cars, and just from it's nature I don't imagine a dealer being able to do anything about it. Nonetheless will hopefully get it in to be looked at in 2 weeks or so. About the only negative I have with car so far, so I'll hold out...
  7. High Pitched Whine/Noise at Highway Cruising Speed?

Don't know that its a diff noise. Really my first post doesn't quite describe the noise correctly. It's not a "buzz" or a "whine" - it's more like a very specific resonating frequency, like a tuning fork or something. Going to try to capture it on audio here at some point.
  8. High Pitched Whine/Noise at Highway Cruising Speed?

Howdy! Fresh new CTR owner here (brought it home today!). On the way home (a decent stretch of highway), I noticed that between 60-67 (worst at 66&67 or so), if the car is under slight throttle while just cruising, a somewhat high-pitched whine develops in the cabin. Hard to tell where it is...
  9. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Yeah as long as the state isn't Massachusetts it appears fine. Mass doesn't give out or recognize Temporary plates from any state. As a result, it is not possible to take delivery of a Car in Massachusetts without registering it in Massachusetts and receiving Mass plates (at least legally)...
  10. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Not all states function this way. I know in Mass you have to physically take delivery of the car outside of the state to avoid their sales tax. However your post actually got me searching... and this may be an only Massachusetts thing. Seems that they don't issue Temporary plates of any kind...
  11. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Sure - so here in NH, with no Sales Tax, a CTR at True MSRP would be$35595 out the door, plus any extra doc/title fees they try to cram on. If, for example, I was able to track down a Connecticut dealer selling the CTR at $35595, I would also be charged 6.35% sales tax on that purchase -...
  12. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Yeah sorry - New Hampshire has no sales tax whatsoever. Meant to include that detail but just skirted around it. Nearby Mass dealers will deliver to the State and bypass the Tax, but it still makes for a limited selection.
  13. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

My MSRP search has started recently, but it's a tough battle for me - New Hampshire based purchaser for which an out of state MSRP purchase is not the same. Figure 2019 will come before anything close to MSRP shows up.
  14. Sport touring hatchback lurching/shuddering

Not sure if related, but I've noticed similar issues with my 17 Si. Specifically I would say that the issue for me focuses around one key factor: 0-1% throttle is too much, and no throttle is too little, or at least that is how it feels. If I am driving around trying to keep a constant speed on...
  15. What are your top 3 complaints with the Civic Si?

    1) The transition from 0-1% throttle to no throttle is not smooth most of the time. For situations where I am literally feathering the pedal, the transition from slight throttle to no throttle is often jerky. Never experienced this in another car. 2) The sun visor only seems to have tension in...
