I was about to ask the same... I love this forum, but I just bought myself an Accord 1.5 6MT (The Civic is the Girlfriend's) so I need a place to chat with other Accord X owners without disrupting your guys' lives.
Carry on!
I myself am more interested in a naturally aspirated engine than a turbo. I haven't driven the 2.0 so I don't know how it compares to my old 2006 Civic. I appreciate the power my spouse's car has, but being that I already have a car with a turbocharged engine myself I've found that there is...
Hahahaha, I'll take it but I'll disclaim that there are reasons I've been trying to get back into a Honda car the last two years. I previously owned an 8th-gen Civic (2006, EX, 5-speed) which wound up under a semi trailer during a rainstorm (Not my fault, I swear). I ended up in an SUV because...
In January I tested all of the Accord 2.0t 6MT, 1.5t CVT, and Civic Si.
Now, because of the price and fuel economy I had zero interest in the 2.0t Accord, except my dealership only had (and has only gotten) the 2.0t with a Manual, so we drove the 1.5t for the engine strength, and the 2.0t so I...
We almost traded my Girlfriend's 2010 Accord EX-L on a 2017 Hybrid Touring (One of their last three 2017s in stock at the time) during one local dealership's big end of model year blowout sale. We ended up about $2,000 apart and neither of us would give in any further. That sale was in...
I've been hemming and hawing over a purchase for some time (Since before I joined this forum. It's actually tied to selling and buying property, which is a process that's taken much longer than I hoped. Just made an offer on a house today though so we're moving). As I'm finally progressing on...
If Honda offered the EX with a manual I'd probably be shopping for that over the Sport (Sunroof, Smart Key, and easier-to-maintain rubber), unfortunately they aren't. I could save up for a few extra months, go for a 2.0t Sport and put on my own rubber, but that's a bit of overkill for my needs...
I test drove a Sport and a Touring (both 1.5t obviously) along with a Civic Si. Honestly I enjoyed the Si more, but it might just have been because of the 6MT. I told the dealership to call me back when they got a Sport 6MT and I'd render a final verdict on which I'll buy. He said there was...
And when you read the OP's post, he indicated that this would be a family car, not a track car. I think that a 1.5t Accord would probably be a better fit for a family than a Civic Si, which is why I'm strongly considering bypassing the Civic myself in favor of an Accord 1.5t (I don't have a...
I'd expect the Civic Si and Accord 1.5t Sport to be about the same price (We should know tomorrow for sure). The power/weight ratio on the Accord 1.5t and the Civic EX-T is about the same, so the Si will be a bit faster than the Accord. Personally however, especially for a daily driver with a...
Better: It has an actual shifter for the automatic
Worse: It probably doesn't offer a Manual
I kinda like that steering wheel more than the Accord's though. The flat bottom somehow looks slicker.
Good point. Also explains the slow addition of technology; That older demographic is less likely to accept and adapt to those technologies. It might actually scare some buyers away (though I think most older folks are open to new technology, they just have a harder time learning to use it).
I was just talking about the subjective styling of the cars in question, but the technology is another concern. Toyota doesn't move as fast as anybody else. Yup, they made a looker, but it's obsolete right out of the box.
The Camry will age very fast, whereas I think the Accord will grow more elegant the more people see it. Frankly, even the rear is growing on me. Not to mention the manual transmission. My only concern is the long-term reliability of the turbo Vs. a V6.
Only question I have right now is...
Exactly; wait until you see it in person before rendering judgement. I HATED the press photos of the 7th generation Accord, but fell in love the first time I saw one in person. So far, just 24 hours in, the looks of this Accord are growing on me. The rear end is still awkward, but I feel...
Don't compare it to a Hyundai... Not even Hyundai's rear ends are that bad! (Spoken as a Hyundai owner)
I need to wait for the fuel economy and pricing info, but if everything's right I'd take that over the Civic 1.5 any day. In both cases I like the cars only from the C-Pillar forward, but...
My 2006 Civic EX. I've been looking for more photos of it before I buy the new one, but the new one has been perpetually delayed so I haven't been too concerned about it yet, thus these are all I have right now.
This was my first brand new car, and was about as perfect as I could have ever...
