I’ve changed my oil twice so far in my Si, about 5500 mile intervals. I sent both to Blackstone. The first report on the original factory fill showed 1% fuel dilution. The second, on Royal Purple 0w20 full synthetic showed less than 0.5% fuel dilution. Their “acceptable” amount according to the...
The dealer replaced my Si's gauge cluster under warranty for same issues dthatcher7 saw. I was fortunate that I was a few miles from the dealership when the problem started, and drove straight there. Is it an actual fault vs a temporary weirdness? No idea. I haven't had any issues since.
Yours is a bit worse than mine, but yes, I've got similar crud at my second oil change (11.5k miles). Apparently small oil leaks are not uncommon on these engines. I haven't gone to the dealer yet, but I plan on raising the issue soon.
I have the OEM trunk tray Ataricade linked. It's slippery. I ended up building a wood frame to hold a couple of plastic bins for groceries and to keep larger items from sliding all over the place.
For HID's, I've tried both Kensun's 5000k and the Morimoto Elite 5500k. Both are good kits and...
I sent my factory fill oil to Blackstone, changed at ~5900 miles. I switched to Royal Purple 0w20 with an OEM filter, and will get the next oil change sample analyzed as well.
I'll try to post the full report later, but the summary was "so far, so good," Lots of metal and silicon from break-in...
I checked the paperwork from the cluster replacement in my Si. Turns out the issues did *not* reproduce for the techs the next day. However since the service writer had documented what he saw, the techs reached out to their support channel with Honda and were told to change out the cluster...
Do the Accord Sports have upgraded suspension or steering vs the base model? I recently put 100 miles on a loaner '18 Accord 1.5T CVT and I was quite underwhelmed. Steering was light and vague. I learned I don't care for CVT's, I'd rather have a 6+ speed traditional automatic.
I did like the...
I have my car back - they were able to get the part fedex'd. Turns out they replaced the entire gauge cluster. $1100 or so, according to the service writer.
It's fortunate I was near the dealership when it happened. And except for the turn signals not working I probably would have gone home and disconnected the battery. I bet this is one of those cases where if a tech doesn't see it happening, they can't diagnose it.
Hopefully when I pick it up...
My 2017 Si is at the dealership now for a similar issue. My daughter and I stopped by the store on our way home, all was fine. Get back to the car after shopping and put her in the car, then go for the trunk. Won't open. None of the three switches opened it. No worries, we'll head home and call...
I understand the plastic base is the same on all MT Civics. The spring on the Si and Type R are the same, different than base models. The actual shift lever is longer on the Type R unit, which results in a shorter shift throw than Si/base models.
