Seems to be gone for me too since I applied the fix a few days ago. I'm super happy if it holds. Been dealing with it for 2 years as well!
Edit: spoke too soon, seems to rattle still but I think taping the sensor helped. :(
This might've fixed it for me. Will have to see if it works since my rattle comes and goes randomly. The sensor is very easy to pop up, just stick something in the crack and gently pry up. I taped a small piece of foam tape in there and plopped it back down so its not wiggling as much.
Really...
Not sure about the US, but in Canada they should replace the module under the glove box. It's a small square part that controls the AC unit. They shouldn't need to touch your dash or anything behind the head unit. If you google the part number you'll see how small it is. If you peek behind the...
Had mine done on Tuesday. The last 2 days has been insanely cold due to the polar vortex and I noticed that the car does warm up a bit faster. I also feel that the RPMs stay up higher too (I have a CVT) so they might've changed when the CVT changes the gear ratios. Keeping the RPM up might be a...
I think they're messing with you, the campaign includes a free oil change (no filter, just oil). Go to another dealer to get it done. I just had mine done this week, it includes a full oil change not a partial.
Thanks, looking forward to the updates. I'm scheduled to do mine in about a week but I'm on the fence whether it's worth it if there is a risk of killing mileage.
What's your idle rpm now compared to before? I have a CVT not sure if same as manual but it would idle at 600 with no electronics on (headlight/fans) and 700 with anything on.
Seems like it would use more gas if idle is up..
Yeah I'm part of it. Just wanted the official letter first. Agreed with you on the engine temp, on days when its -20 my engine doesn't fully warm up to the mid mark even after 20min drive.
I believe for Canada it's https://www.honda.ca/recalls and for USA it's http://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls
You could also login to your MyHonda site to check.
Anyone know whether you have to do these campaigns immediately? I haven't received written notice and I want to do the...
How big of a job is it to get this ac unit and pcm done? Just ran my VIN and it's part of the recall but I haven't received letter notice yet. Probably don't want to do it until my oil change is due next year since I just changed it.
I recall the emergency jack doesn't actually lift at the pinch weld but rather the frame to the inner side of it. The weld was only used for alignment. That said the weld itself could very likely be strong enough. I do know that other Japanese cars get their pinch welds bent by lifts/stands.
I did and I know the Civic ones are reinforced pinch welds. Still reasonable to try and take precautions to prevent them from bending on a jack stand is it not? I do admit I'm new to this so I am taking more care than normal.
