  1. New Jersey MSW Type 22 16x7 Wheels w/Continental Wintercontact SI Tires for sale

These wheels fit the 10th and 11th Civics. Offset is +45mm, tires are 215/55R16. They have 2 winters on them (1/4" thread depth) and have been sitting in storage since I got rid of the Civic for a Mazda. 1 of the wheels has some peeling paint, see pics. Asking $550 for the set in the NYC/NJ...
  2. Goodbye Honda family!

Haven't posted here in a while as life has taken us in a whole new direction with the introduction of a small fussy crybaby into our lives. We needed the extra room and safety of a car that wasn't at eye level with every other SUV around here. My wife and I got really good trade in offers for...
  3. 2017 hatch back rear weather seal already falling apart

Does anyone know the part # of the weather strip around the inside of the rear hatch? Mine is already falling apart.
  4. What are the items that need to be lubricated?

I keep hearing that the dealer does things behind the standard oil changes, like lubricate chassis components, etc. Where are these components that need to be lubricated and what kind of grease do I use?
  5. Did the Sonata rip off our tail lights?

Saw a new 2021 Sonata on the road the other day and is it me or do the tail lights look awfully similar?
  6. How much for CVT fluid change? Also, better to DIY?

At 49k miles, due for a CVT fluid change on my 1.5T. Anyone know how much this costs at the dealer? Also, do they just do a drain and fill? I heard that only took like, 1/3rd of the fluid out. Am I better off just buying 12 qts of fluid and doing 3 drain and fills myself to get mostly new fluid in?
  7. Not so flimsy after all...

Was watching some crash test videos and it seems like the Civics are doing a lot better than the ford explorers. In the small impact offset test, the passenger survival cell partially collapsed in the explorer! Frightening for a 2018.
  8. Maybe this is how they solved the intake valve carbon build up problem

I was watching a video about the 1.5T design and stumbled on this cut-away view of the engine. I drew the area where the injectors spray. We know that with DI engines, some manufacturers build in some over lap so that fuel still occasionally hits seal area of the valve. And since the valve...
  9. Hatch vs sedan pads

Does anyone know if the EX hatchback uses the same brake pads as the EX sedan? I know honda gives them a different part number but i thought they had the same brakes, no?
  10. Vibrating ticking sound in sunroof area

Anyone had experience with this? When I'm driving on a road that causes the car to vibrate or even when I'm just at high RPMs, I would hear this faint fast ticking noise, like if you took the sticky side of Scotch tape and tapped your finger against it. It's coming from above my right ear. When...
  11. Maybe the touch screen climate control isn't so bad.

I'm coming up on 1 year of ownership and I've come to the conclusion that the touch screen climate control isn't so bad. I was thinking about my old car with the 3 knobs; temperature/AC, fan speed/Auto, directional/recirculation. The only advantage it had was that I could turn the AC on/off...
  12. Brake hold great for reaction times

I discovered something interesting today. There's a highway that starts at a light. 3 lanes. Within about 500ft, it turns into 2 lanes. There's always a bunch of a-holes creeping forward at the light. Normally I don't care because I'm coming home from groceries and the car isn't warmed up...
  13. Steering effort on sedan vs hatchback

Anyone have both the hatch and sedan? I regularly drive both of ours and feel like the hatchback actually has less steering effort than the sedan. This is contrary to what the marketing literature says.
  14. Is it dirt? Or is it art?

Drove through about 20 miles of back country road with sand and slush. I think my car got Bob Ross'ed.
  15. Tire rotation mileages?

Was thinking about this on a long drive. Like, if the front tires wear 15% in 8000 miles and the rear tires wear 5% and then get rotated, now the front tires are at 95% and rears at 85%. 8000 miles later for the next rotation period, the fronts are at 80% and the rears are at 80%. So the 2nd...
  16. Headlight stalk wear

OK another weird question. Has anyone ever had a headlight stalk wear out? Lately I've been finding myself highbeaming like a MF and I was thinking, I'm putting a lot of wear and tear on this stalk!
  17. Damn good gas mileage!

I do a lot of high way driving and I've come to the conclusion that there's some dark magic happening in the Honda 1.5T engine in my hatchback. Either that or it's a combination of good design, lightness, and aerodynamics. We all know that the car gets great gas mileage. A few of us also know...
  18. Water leaking onto my gas hole

Is it me or does the door for the gas not have a seal around it so when it rains, your cap-less gas hole gets all soaked and wet? I have a small concern about water getting into the tank and a large concern about the water around the cap-less flap freezing and not being able to push the...
