Just wanted to give you an update. After speaking to Roger he agreed that the vacuum line in my kit was defective. He shipped out a new one and after doing a visual comparison of the two hoses you could tell that there was something seriously wrong with the original hose. I got everything...
I think I'm going to need your tech's assistance after all. I decided to do a test after I routed the vacuum line on my car just to make sure I didn't have any punctures. It seems like the hose that you guys included in the kit is far too restrictive, I couldn't get ANY air to flow through the...
I didn't realize you guys sold the turbo blanket until just now. I ordered direct from USR but would have ordered with you had i know earlier so i could have everything delivered all at once.
Anyways, can you explain how this boost controller works? There were no instructions with it and the...
It was posted on a Facebook owners forum. Honestly I’m taking it with a grain of salt. The person who posted it was acting like it was top secret and pretty much refused to give any evidence to back his claim that a tune caused engine damage.
@Hondata isn't the odometer tied into the ECU? If I were to purchase a cloned ECU, would the process of swapping back and forth between ECUs cause either of them to go out sync with the actual odometer mileage?
Secondly, on another forum there is a member implying that at least 3 Type R owners...
Can you elaborate at all about what the process is for unlocking the ECU? Is it a physical modification you are doing to the ECU or is it software derived? Sorry if this has already been asked/answered but I didn't see an answer in this thread.
99.999% likely that was a faulty wiring harness. If your dealer pulled the CEL code I'm willing to bet it was for the turbo bypass solenoid, which for most of us was triggered by a bad crimping on the connector.
I was given a rental car paid for by Honda.
Also, I'm not sure why it's taking so long for some dealerships to get the replacement part. Mine was able to get it overnight and the repair was done in a day.
I don't know why everyone seems to want to put the blame on the zip ties. Go to page 4 of this thread, there are several pictures there. That kind of defect is from poor crimping/soldering on the ends of the cable, not from a zip tie being too tight.
This is exactly what happened to me. Dealership was able to repair the faulty connector and release the car back to me but Honda wants the whole harness replaced. The dealership ordered the part and surprisingly, it came in overnight. I've got an appointment to go back next week and get it...
