1989 Ford Escort Hatchback
Piece of garbage. Friends would constantly ask "everything okay?" as I would attempt to drive away.
1994 Nissan Sentra Limited Edition
Loved this car. Felt like a Lexus compared to the Escort. Got me through college.
2003 Honda Accord V6 Coupe EX-L
Great car. Somehow...
Thanks guys, I guess I'll see if I can get the dealership to look at it. Granted, it's not nearly as loud in-person as it seems in that video, but it still shouldn't be like that. The steering wheel in my old 1994 Nissan Sentra didn't feel that cheap.
I'm not sure what caused it exactly, perhaps bumps/potholes over a long period of time. It was very faint and not very persistent at first, but grew louder and more frequent over time. It didn't start until around ~10k miles (at 16k now).
I did have one noise coming from the weatherstripping...
Hey everyone, apologies if this isn't the right area to post this.
The steering wheel on my EX-T is really squeaky/creaky around where the plastic controls touch the plastic grip, much more than any other car I've driven in the past. Is the leather version any better in this regard?
If it is...
They didn't, but I'm bringing it back next week so they can dig deeper. I specifically asked them to check the suspension and wheel components this time, since that seems to be the obvious place to look.
It's not necessarily a bad thing, I doubt that it's any less reliable than the other one. The 2.0 is the big volume seller, after all. Unless you've got way more power than stock, that is.
I remember reading that the CVT in the 1.5 model is the same as (or at least based on) the one in the Accord. My guess would be that it is better suited to the higher power of that engine, or the ratio spread is better for the turbo engine's different power curve.
I wouldn't think so. The rear ends of these cars are completely different shapes. The tail lights are also very different, and the bumper has to sit flush against those.
Yeah mine has the same issue. The passenger seatbelt slams against the door repeatedly, especially when the windows are down. I just buckle it even when I don't have a passenger now.
Nope. This sound gets a lot louder when the rear seats are collapsed, so it's definitely coming from something in or around the trunk. At the very least, it's not from inside the cabin itself.
My fuel economy seems to be very strongly affected by any additional weight added to the vehicle. When I'm driving by myself, I can quite easily average 37-40 mpg (I weigh about 150lbs). With a passenger added to the equation, I get closer to 32-36-ish, depending on the person. For reference, I...
Does anyone else have a relatively loud, high-pitch POP coming from the rear passenger-side area? It happens to mine randomly as I drive over bumps or anything else that causes the suspension to react. It's much, much louder when the rear seats are folded down – it seems to be coming from...
Both of my doors on my coupe will buzz a little during bass-heavy songs at a moderate volume. I've never really considered it a notable problem, just a symptom of an economy car with decent speakers.
