Let it go. There's no coming back from using a crusher washer 7 times in a row. Sucks to have an innocuous comment discussed in that manner isn't it? Next time, don't be a smart arse. Take the lesson and move on. There's nothing left to see here.
I'm surprised about your remark because I've come across some of your other posts and the story it tells me is that the position your coming from appears to be on the more thrifty side of things. Using a crusher washer 7 times. Now that is ridiculous. You purchased a car worth tens of thousands...
I can only share what I have observed and smelt. I used to do 0-20W oil changes and I could always smell a heavy amount of fuel in the oil. I even called my wife over once just to make sure I wasn't going crazy becuase I hadn't smelt that in any other car I've ever owned. I then went to Shell...
Yep that's exactly what I do and I change the oil filter on the second one. Sometimes I'm amazed at how dirty that second drain still is. Just an eye test of course, I don't send it in to a lab or anything.
Can you tell me more about the adding diesel trick? Did it work without ruining the engine? Just curious because when I was a kid my science teacher told us about it. Just wondering if you can confirm that it worked for you?
I drain and refill my oil out twice in a row to make sure as little or none of the old oil is left in there. My Uncle taught me that growing up. Whether he was right or not or wasteful or not, I don't know, however, I've never had any engine trouble with cars I've owned.
