  1. Hikari vs Morimoto

I just ended up zip tying the harness with the ballasts to part of the metal support behind the bumper so they weren't swinging around.
  2. takeda coupe exhaust is live

I saw this as well, already preordered my takeda intake, I'll see how that performs first. The exhaust may be the next thing I buy during tax time tho. Looks really nice
  3. Hikari vs Morimoto

I'll try to post some pics soon, I've only been out in daylight the past few days now, of course. Lol
  4. Hikari vs Morimoto

The bumper did not have to come off. You can either go thru the fender liners by turning the wheels all the way and removing the screws or go from underneath and remove 2 bolts and 3 clips on each side, which is what I did. After that the plastic panels pull out of the way and you can fully...
  5. afe Takeda is taking preorders on intakes

I believe the mass airflow is different from the si to the standard 1.5t. Which is why we can't run any of the intakes that have been out for the 1.5t for a bit now. This is also why I'm pretty excited about an si specific takeda intake being developed.
  6. Hikari vs Morimoto

not sure compared to the morimotos but i just installed the SNGL leds last week and they have easily twice the throw of the hikaris i replaced them with. very broad and pronounced on the road as well, i'm sure you will be very happy with them. i was a little hesitant at first because of the...
  7. Post your "Quality of Life" upgrades/modifications here

its not too bad. i put my car on the lift in the shop which made it much easier. however even without, there are 3 clips and 2 10mm bolts on each side of the plastic liner that covers fog light access. took me about 20 minutes to do both sides. it was a little bit of a pain to line the bolts...
  8. afe Takeda is taking preorders on intakes

i pre ordered yesterday! it was tough because i'm broke after christmas lol. the price on these will shoot up around 350 tho after they are released. i looked at it as a really good price on a great product.
  9. afe Takeda is taking preorders on intakes

On my 2012 si the takeda I had hooked up to the factory ducts that went below the bumper essentially making it a "cold air" type intake. Not sure on this design but I'm guessing it's similar. Although not a true cold air intake it showed impressive gains even without a tune. We'll find out more...
  10. afe Takeda is taking preorders on intakes

I was wondering the same. Takeda has always shown higher hp/torque output than many of the other brands but have always been more expensive as well. It says performance data coming soon for both their intake and exhaust systems.
  11. afe Takeda is taking preorders on intakes

Not sure when they are going to be finished developing but i'm definitely interested . i had a Takeda intake on my 2012 si and i loved it. Made a noticeable amount of power and used the factory ducts to help supply air to the sealed box that the filter ran thru. The whole install was very easy...
  12. Hikari vs Morimoto

i upgraded to the sngl h11's last week and they are amazing. i took my old hikari h11's and installed them to the fog lights. the light output is much better with the sngl's. throw is much further down the road. very happy with the purchase. also the hikari's work wonderfully in the fog lamps...
  13. SRS Light

It It should clear on its own over several key cycles. However if not the only way to clear it would be with a diagnostic scan tool, one that accesses the srs system.
  14. So I Thought...

I get around 25-28 on 93 octane in the city with moderate acceleration. Better than my 9th gen. The more you're in boost the less mpg you will get. I've been trying to keep under 5k rpms under normal city driving. I was pretty excited about getting 42 mpg on the highway all the way to ohio and...
  15. Anyone else get a hot phone w Android auto ?

My galaxy s8 gets warm but not hot. If it gets too hot it will stay connected but no longer charge. I believe it's just using android auto in general uses a lot of processing power for the interface. I used it all the way to ohio and back last night with no issues. About a 3 hour drive total...
  16. 17 civic si sedan led or hid

Has anyone noticed that their hikaris have actually gotten a little brighter after prolonged use? Possibly a break in period for them after warming up? I feel like the down the road and side lighting is more pronounced now after using for a bit now.
  17. Exterior detail

I had a few coats of xzilon applied the day after I bought the car. Washed it normally about 4 times so far. 2 times hand washed and 2 touchless car washes. No need to clay bar yet as the new paint feels very smooth. You'll know if you need to clay bar if the paint ever feels rough after a wash...
  18. Turn signal lever locks mechanically or electronically?

Yes it's both, it's a 2 stage switch. Push down slightly for a quick 3 second turn signal, or push it down until it clicks to keep it on until a turn is completed. I like the quick signal but it's too brief usually and i end up using the full signal most of the time. It's meant more for quick...
  19. Auxbeam is having a really good sale on LEDs! I have a quick question

I don't feel like they're diffused, if anything they are more focused with light output on projectors versus the standard type headlight assemblies found on the 9th gens. My led headlights on my 9th gen went all over the place where as on the 10th gen they produce a nice clean, focused beam of...
  20. Auxbeam is having a really good sale on LEDs! I have a quick question

No problem man. I love the hikaris but the morimotos looks slightly brighter on down the road lighting. There's only a difference of 400 lumens total on output. 9600 lumens for hikari and 10,000 for morimoto. Lumen output seems to be a good judge of the performance of the light. I had opt 7's...
