Just for the record, I took it in the other day for the 4th time to have gravel removed. Initially, the dealership put it on a lift, did an initial inspection, and couldnāt find it, speculating that perhaps it fell out in the process. Iāve noticed that the problem is intermittent, but backing...
Heh, I had the same issue with my wife; āIt doesnāt suit you or our family!ā :). Iām 46 and I love it! (I wonāt say itās beautiful, but I do like how aggressive it looks, and the performance is my priority.). I had a ā00 PY ITR, and also knew I had to have one again when they came out with the...
On Friday, my sixth day of ownership, I took my buddy out to lunch & we heard a horrible screeching/scraping sound coming from the front left wheel. Did a ton of visual inspection, couldnāt see anything amiss. It ended up being really intermittent. For a while it was only when turning left...
I couldnāt agree more. I gave my dealer my Si for my lease payoff which was about $1k less than kbb. But, it was keyed on 3 panels; my insurance should cover that. I paid $1k over for the R, though he covered the transport ~250 miles, trading for the color I wanted. He says that would be...
R-23430 checking in. https://www.civicx.com/threads/2017-si-2019-r-super-happy.36876/
I love this color! My Si was Aegean Blue, which I really enjoyed, but decided to go a bit more subtle with the R. I think the PMM really shows off the lines.
Iām hesitant to say this, given that Iāve only driven it in the rain/on wet roads, but I suspect this may be the best-handling car Iāve ever driven. And Iāve driven some really good cars (ITR, S2000, 135i w/Performance Suspension, 2013 Si w/Eibach Pro Kit Anti-Roll bars & springs, 2017 Si)...
I enjoyed the Si, but always wished it were dialed up just a bit more, mostly in terms of handling. And Iām not a fan of the heavy flywheel & rev hang; rev matching was a job, not a joy.
I understand why they made some of the trade-offs from the previous gen (I drove a ā13 for 4 years), but...
In fact, you can get to the beginning of Pinehurst from Redwood, along that route.
Thatās my absolute favorite! :) Iāve been driving all over those roads since I got my license. I grew up in Pleasant Hill, and am lucky to live here as an adult. I work in Berkeley, so I often drive Alhambra...
ā17 Civic Si, checking in. Dismayed to see not much has changed since I posted about this a year ago. Glad to see this thread. I really hope a solution is found!
Any updates, guys? My car is due for service soon, so Iāll see if my dealership has any new information, but Iād love to hear about any solutions others have found...
My roof rattles when closed too. :-/ The service guys said they had to order a headliner to be able to begin the work, but they never notified me that it came in. I eventually asked, and it did, but I havenāt had time to deal with it yet.
Now my driverās side window is squeaking, and thereās...
It might be worth checking to see if itās related to the A/C. I hear a whine at low speeds under partial throttle, but only when A/C is on. Dealer hasnāt been able to solve, and apparently affects some CTRs too: https://www.civicx.com/threads/whine-or-flutter-from-transmission-in-1st-gear.16693/
So I took my car in, and they āevacuated and recharged ā the A/C coolant, but no change; the whine is still present. Definitely goes away when A/C is off.
They said theyāve had a few with the same issue, including a Type R.
Current advice is to wait for Honda to issue a fix.
I really do...
Try using the automatic climate control, which does have a physical knob. No, you canāt adjust just the fan speed, or which vents are in use, but it works pretty well.
I was against the concept of automatic CC for a while, thinking I really cared about the specific controls. Now, having...
DATA POINT: I did some experimenting in better conditions than I had briefly done before, and I can confirm that the whistling sound is immediately gone when I turn off the Climate Control system, which I almost always have on Auto. It returns when I turn it on again. There may still be a tiny...
