Right, as they’re not made by Hancock in that size. Didn’t realize it was the RS4’s or bust.
Seems to be a solid 3-5 options that are at least as good as the hancooks If you really wanted to see what 285’s would do.
Update:
Received the new pressure plate overnighted to me yesterday. Dropped it off and am waiting word back now on it being completed.
It did NOT bend in with use. It was installed and never used.
Gotcha. So, basically what you’re saying here is if my installer tries charging anything beyond my original quote I should have clear grounds to stand on to say no?
Based on others stating that they should have known about it visually and had doubts, and what you’re saying, that’s how I’m...
Man, what doesn’t the UK do better than the US. Here in the states there’s nothing legally stated about labor. Thankfully my shop has been understanding and with this news from you guys, I’m sure they’ll be even more so moving forward.
Here’s the morning update.
Spec called and after they saw the images their whole attitude changed.
They’re overnighting a new pressure plate and want to hear back that the issue is resolved.
I’m assuming it did look like this when installed considering the issues popped up right away.
I was quoted one additional hour for labor beyond what the warranty was covering for the separate issue. I will not be paying more than that.
So the installer and spec spoke today. Seems that the clutch was manufactured improperly.
Working through MAP to get a refund. They’re giving me some pushback but at the end of the day I think it’ll get taken care of.
Now I’m debating getting a new OEM clutchplate while they’re in there.
Already touched base with MAPerformance and they’re reaching out to spec before fully processing a return. Frustrating to me at this point, but I guess that’s the way it goes?
No, I was actually having issues shifting into second, and it would pop out, etc. I still have warranty, so they replaced the fork, synchro and a couple other things. It now goes into second no problem every time. When the car is off it shifts in every gear smooth as ever.
While they were in...
The 5 inches is just an estimate. I can tell you it CLEARLY feels much much lower to the ground when it engages and when in gear coasting, there was a very subtle grinding noise that was not present before, almost like it hadn’t fully engaged? Hard to say here, but very frustrating. It’s been...
I’ve contacted MAPerformance, who is contacting spec. At this point, If determined a clutch component, spec lost my business.
If not, and they state I need to buy an additional component, I’m double out as I feel this is awful business practices. Just found this post on the forum as I was...
