MHI Bolt-On Turbo Upgrade (GONE WRONG) | PROJECT FC3 (10th Gen Civic) | Edge Autosport - YouTube
Edge Autosport had 3 (THREE) MHI turbos fail on them on first pull and are still waiting for MHI to let them know what went wrong.
The fuel injectors on our engines can't handle E85 for some reason, that's why everyone says to mix it to E35 or something like that. I don't know more than that though...
The term you're looking for is probably "engine braking". When the throttle is not being used, the engine is still rotating while not combusting which causes engine speed (and thus vehicle speed) to gradually decrease. You can intensify the rate of deceleration by shifting down into a lower gear.
Thank you for the info! It's pretty cool that you're able to match the Type-R at least in numbers with a much cheaper car. Were you able to get those comparison dyno charts that you mentioned earlier? It's been really cool watching this evolution.
It's high pitched enough that my phone camera doesn't seem to capture it well. It only happens in manual mode, the same revs in D or normal S don't cause the sound. I wonder if it might be the transmission complaining because it can't shift the cones around?
I'm not sure if this is an issue or normal operation, but I figure it can't hurt to ask. When I'm driving my hatch in "manual" mode using the paddle shifters, the transmission seems to be excessively loud. I can especially hear it above 3000 rpm, but it gets increasingly loud as revs increase...
I'd say you can look at modern engines the same way modern processors are made. Engines (and processors) are designed and tested with performance and longevity targets that both need to be tested. Heat and usage stress are both easily quantifiable impacts on longevity, so manufacturers will run...
Yes the seat fits onto the rear bench and back very well. I have one kid using it as a car seat and the other is using as a booster and it works well for both of them.
Was this behavior that has been noticed on W1 CVTs or other big-turbo swaps? At least from what I've seen out of other posts, the CVT behaves the same regardless of mods because the TCU is completely separate from the ECU. @D-RobIMW has tuned a lot of modded CVTs, would you mind chiming in...
If that's the case and low end torque is lesser, what is the reason you recommend against CVTs? Is it just because this turbo will provide so much power you're worried the belt will slip even in the high end?
Good to hear! I think that's all anyone is looking for, some official guidance instead of user-based stuff that may have changed over time. Thanks for the response, you guys always keep up the good reputation of customer support ?
Hey @Vincent@27WON has there been any movement or projected changes regarding the CAI on CVT models? I do remember seeing this a few months ago, but as a person stated earlier in the thread, they thought it was already fixed?
Can you guys take some pictures! Information regarding the Race MAF has been really hard to come by, so I'm interested in whatever you guys can share :D @hobby-man are you on pump gas or flex fuel?
