Rear sway bars do not provide more grip, they link the rear wheels together. Barracks explained this earlier.
This reduction in grip at the rear results in a reduction in understeer tendency, and increases the likelihood for rotation. That being said, I still agree that these changes are only...
Any height adjustments will alter your alignment specs. Depending on the installation, there will be some cross camber which cannot be adjusted without camber plates (front) or camber arms (rear).
Going to join in that none of these handling mods are advisable if you're not doing any HDPE, you're just asking for trouble. If anyone is worried about oversteer from the Type R sway bar (which really is a mild upgrade IMO), then driver mod should be first before suspension adjustments.
Follow this for basic alignment recommendations. Note that camber bolts do not apply to our platform. I had no issue rotating with -2 camber all around with 0 toe, type r sway bar, 6kg coilovers, and the all season 16" tires. Currently, on top of the previous mods, I have 255/225 reverse...
Cool, 20% of all Civics, assuming an even split between coupes, sedans, Si coupes and sedans, and Type R's, or whatever split you want, that's a large chunk of the segment. That still bolsters my point that the hatchbacks are pretty common.
These are some bold claims performance wise...
Source? I can't find anything breaking down the sales figures by body style. It's also funny that you mention the Sport as better than the regular hatchback when they have the exact same performance as the rest; that 6 or so HP difference quoted by Honda can be attained by any of the turbo...
Long time no update, with several mods and track days to follow.
With the new reverse stagger setup, I hit Streets of Willow again in December 2018 and shaved off 5 seconds from my time and got 1:37! Feels good to have some grip! I absolutely rubbed with the setup but eventually rubbed enough...
I’ve literally no problem with the parking brake other than it being a pull tab instead of a mechanical handle. I’ve got gripes about this car but the parking brake is not one of them and it seems that I’m not alone in this thread. Either you got a lemon or you’re just blaming Honda for your...
Definitely what I’m eyeing, just waiting until I can snatch all three on sales and install them at once. I really don’t want to take off the bumper more than once, it’s a bit daunting to me despite fussing around with my suspension all the time
Less camber in the rear does help with rotation but you need some for high speed stability, so for autocross speeds I can see 0 in the rear being fine. It’s common to run -2 in the rear though for road courses as long as the front is -2 or more too
I started tracking this year and am going to head back to Streets of Willow on 12/30, and hitting Big Willow for the first time in January.
more info on my current setup here. The main things I'm looking to add to my car is oil cooler, FMIC, and radiator mainly for the ease of mind, I don't...
E-tunez is pretty well reputed in the 8th and 9th community and I believe Vit even worked with them previously, I just wanted to see how they handle the 10th gen platform and it sounds like OP wants to double check if everything's in line as well. I understand and try my best to follow "buy once...
This is starting to turn around in a good way, considering that OP's tune isn't finished. I might pull the trigger on E-Tunez as well now, with no consideration for maximum power or flex fuel, just want a performance daily that I can occasionally thrash on at the track a couple times a year.
