  1. Could be a lightly used Type R available in CO

Thanks for the feedback @leehom. I did take a couple used M235i's out yesterday and really enjoyed it. If/when I end up replacing the Type R, that's probably the top candidate. They were automatic xdrive models, and that's probably one of the main conflicts I would have with that switch -...
  2. Could be a lightly used Type R available in CO

Never said it was better, just a potential change.
  3. Could be a lightly used Type R available in CO

Hopefully I don't get flamed too much, but I'm at least casually considering moving on to something like an M235i. Also considering a 4-series, S3, S4/S5. I've owned several of those German brands, but am also very nostalgic for the Hondas "of my youth," which prompted the interest (and...
  4. Wife craved some exclusivity with her car too...

So one of my wife's previous cars was a 2010 BMW 328xi wagon - an m-sport model with a manual transmission. Quite the unicorn. But, she did end up selling it a few years back and has since gone through several different vehicles. Most recently, she was driving a Mercedes GLC300, which was a...
  5. Let's Get Serious About Tracking Type R Sales Numbers

I just added my shipping costs to mine above.
  6. Honda Road Hazard Tire & Wheel Coverage for the CTR

I think it's a good idea, even though I declined it (I was offered a package covering up to $2,500 total for $690). As was posted above, make sure to read the warranty to make sure there aren't unreasonable exclusions or a really low limit. The $2,500 limit is what turned me off - just...

  8. any owners new to driving manual?

It's been a long time since I learned to drive a manual - I think I was 17 or so (I'm 45 now) - but for me, it did take a little time to get comfortable with it. It's not necessarily "intuitive," but once you get it, it becomes second nature. In fact, when I get into one of our automatic cars...
  9. Looking at buying a CTR soon. Have some questions.

I usually check what the rates are at my credit union and then see if the dealership can find financing to meet or beat it. Other than promotional rates, which I don't believe exist on the Type R, you're probably looking at somewhere in the high 2's to low 3's on a new car loan these days.
  10. Looking at buying a CTR soon. Have some questions.

As for local dealerships, I spoke with Mile High, Schomp and Kuni directly, and exchanged quick phone calls or emails with all other local dealerships. Schomp is straight up MSRP, and Mile High and Kuni claim to be MSRP plus some level of accessories. Schomp has a relatively long waiting list...
  11. Strangest reaction/situation you've been in because of your R?

I almost bought one there but someone else put a deposit down before I committed. In fact, this CW one may be the one, since it was in transit. Great salesperson and manager there - and a pretty minimal markup. And...it's a CW - someone needs to grab it.
  12. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Just got a call from Corwin Honda in Fargo, ND. They have a CW due in at the end of October that is currently not spoken for. When I spoke to them a month ago, they were offering around $1,500 over MSRP. I would have accepted it, but took a day to think about it and by then someone else had...
  13. Strangest reaction/situation you've been in because of your R?

In the few weeks I've had the car, I've had a couple drivers on the interstate pull up and give compliments - one in a Lancer (maybe an EVO, couldn't tell) and one in a recently purchased GTI. My wife drove it last week to run an errand - she was selling her car at Carmax and apparently a...
  14. Mats

Oh I see - didn't notice that earlier. Makes sense.
  15. Mats

I could be wrong, but I thought the cloth "Type R" mats were standard on the car - not an option, not an accessory. Which means, the dealership shouldn't have had the opportunity to exclude them in the first place. Are you local to the dealer? I'd go back and kindly ask for the mats that...
  16. What did you do to your Type R today?

I was able to take the "CIVIC" letters off pretty easily. I found "twisting" the letters made it easier to work them off, as opposed to "pulling" them away from the hatch. From there, it just took a little elbow grease to get the adhesive off - I found rubbing the area with a dry microfiber...
  17. What did you do to your Type R today?

I simply found some gloss black touch-up paint at the local auto shop - it was actually a "Toyota" color, for what it's worth. I figured it didn't matter much for a minor touch-up on the wheel. It was a "Duplicolor" brand paint pen that has a brush and a fine tip for applying. Little advice...
  18. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

All in all that's still a great deal for getting your hands on one now. You should feel good about it. I was offered a Wheel and Tire warranty for $690 - it was good for 7 years, but there was a max payout of $2,500 (total). I passed on it personally, but by all means see the value in such...
  19. What did you do to your Type R today?

All in one day - installed the smoked sidemarkers, took off the "Civic" badge, and scraped a wheel . It was a minor scrape just on the lip, so I touched it up with some black paint. Worked pretty well.
  20. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

@boosted180sx - congrats! Just sit back, drive and enjoy it.
