I distinctly remembered Honda hinting the Si would come in coupe and sedan. I don't know where this Si hatch talk started from but I'd gladly welcome it.
I'm pretty sure this thread was initially about whether we think the Si is going to come with some sort of automatic or not.
I take it your Accord is a 5MT.
I can realistically see every dealership with Type-R allocation putting a $5k markup on them. The Focus RS is proof of that and the M2 when financed through BMW Financial is the same price of an M3/M4.
I would like to see the Si with an upgraded 1.5T (230ish HP) w/DSG, LED headlights, and some nice heated leather buckets. An Si Touring if you will.
If it ends up being around 32k, hopefully lower, then this is my new daily.
The GTI is looking like a steal though with this diesel scandal. I...
Whoa, that's news to me! I seem to recall on the 'Future Vehicles' page in the tell me more section, when just the Civic Concept was first announced, they listed the Civic Si in both coupe and sedan, the sedan, the coupe, the hatch, and the Type-R hatch.
I've been under the impression that...
Hopefully Nissan just rebadges the Renault Megane and brings that stateside as our next gen Sentra. I welcome the return of the sport compact race from the 90s!
If the Type-R comes in for 32k-34k I will strongly consider getting it but if the new M2, Focus RS, and 4Runner TRD Pro are anything to go by, locating the car will be the biggest thing keeping me from getting it. I need a car January-ish.
I just think it is the perfect opportunity for Honda to scale down the technologies learned from the NSX's DCT. We've seen what happens when Honda tries to develop a DCT for a vehicle with comfort pretentions a la the TLX. The Si is a shot for them to redeem themselves on a sporty platform and...
I don't think that this is a test mule we're looking at and that this is the production Si.
I hope they have a Si "Touring" trim with the LEDs maybe some leather although I don't want leather.
I think it would be silly for Honda to not include the DCT in this generation Si.
You'd be surprised to see how many DSG equipped GTIs and WRXs with CVTs. That would be a multiple missed sales opportunities for Honda.
Also since the Si is no longer the lone performance moniker in the Civic...
