  1. 5W-20

5w-30 is simply better for the engine. Only drawback is fuel economy will be slightly less compared to 0w20 but I’m preaching to the choir here. the vast majority of cars are fine with 0w-20 too.
  2. 5W-20

    True that
  3. Aquity Shifter Scraping Housing

did you order oem or aftermarket cables?
  4. Aquity Shifter Scraping Housing

Hmmm… if you had issues with the stock shifter it’s possible that the cables may be bent?
  5. Aquity Shifter Scraping Housing

That’s not normal… have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it by the book again?
  6. “Reliable” 300 whp

I have the journal bearing unfortunately I’ve never had any experience with the BB
  7. “Reliable” 300 whp

    Same boat as me.
  8. “Reliable” 300 whp

No problem. It’s definitely the move for long term reliability while also maintaining a great driving experience.
  9. “Reliable” 300 whp

Another thing I should add that’s more opinion than advice is.. the 10th gen platform is really about the chassis. It’s amazing, with just a few mods it’s an extremely capable chassis that blows and older si out of the water. the engine on this car just isn’t as good. It’s good up to that...
  10. “Reliable” 300 whp

Yeah, not really necessary to preemptively upgrade 3/4 unless it fails, as it’s super expensive to do so and if you stay on pump gas and don’t beat the piss out of 4th I’d say it’s unlikely to fail. If it does, then yeah throw the upgraded gears in. Save a lot of money that way. No, I’ve never...
  11. “Reliable” 300 whp

Hey! I’ve been fbo big turbo (rv6 r365 journal bearing) with a custom drob tune for a year now. 25k km give or take. The car has had 236k km on it. the car has been bulletproof reliable and I beat on it almost everyday. I’m still on stock trans and have had no issues at all, I don’t plan on...
  12. Springs vs. Coilovers

    Which eibach springs?
  13. LED Bulbs Recommendations - TypeRLed's Not Responding

It won’t cause any issues either way. You’ll be completely fine putting a halogen in. Unless I’m misunderstanding your situation, I’m a bit confused. Usually resistors will be built into the bulb itself in an aftermarket led solution, is that not the case in the rear?
  14. LED Bulbs Recommendations - TypeRLed's Not Responding

You’d be fine to throw a halogen on until you get the new led, it wouldn’t cause any issues
  15. No, your 1.5L engine is not going to break

Ots tunes tend to reduce fuel economy, atleast slightly. Due to the nature of ots tunes to run richer, as to air on the safe side of the engine.
  16. Turbo upgrade with stock head studs?

You will definitely blow the head gasket if you do that. Arp studs aren’t that expensive, especially considering how much an rv6 turbo costs. Cheap insurance that’s a no brainer
  17. Front and Rear Camber recommendation

Will do. Thanks for the insight, much appreciated
  18. Front and Rear Camber recommendation

Sorry, I just meant like the car currently has -.5 (on the alignment sheet) front camber from the lowering springs I presume. I haven’t pulled any pins or anything. so going for the max adjustment of -1 is a no go? Is it possible that the white line ball joints are better then the spc ones for...
  19. Front and Rear Camber recommendation

I really can’t get -1.5 in the front with the ball joints? I’m already at -0.5 naturally with the springs. Humza at unity and Gavin Danitz on yt said -1.5 is very attainable with the whiteline ball joints. Am I missing something? I don’t mean to question you, I don’t want to crash my car lol
