When the Climate Control is turned off the idle is low & rough, just a little above 600 RPM.
Just clicking on the Low fan setting increases the idle. This is in the manual mode, no AC.
Why would the idle increase because the fan is on low?
Obviously the system can be programmed to do this, but...
Thanks for all the links.
Earlier I did search the forum for “rough idle”. A lot of the results pertained to tuned vehicles, or a vacuum leak, or spark plugs. Only one result seemed to pertain where the dealer said the maf sensor was dirty & he recalibrated the throttle body, however the...
Weather is starting to warm up so the other day I clicked off the Auto setting for temperature. To my surprise the engine idled slightly rough & engine RPM dropped a bit.
My first thought is the AC compressor got turned off & therefore the idle didn’t need to be as high. But why would the...
It's time to change the cabin air filter on my 2018 Civic EX-L. I used OEM last time because the price for the cabin & engine filter was better than for aftermarket filters.
The cabin filter was OEM # 80282-TBA-A11. Now I sometime see a new number 80291-TF3-E01. The online dealers I looked at...
Any suggestions how to protect the seats when getting in the car after spending a day in the sun & covered with sun screen?
I’ve seen the plastic ones on Amazon, the type a dealer may use. Anyone seen something a bit nicer, other than a towel?
Got mine done today. I forgot about this because it's been so long. However I brought the car in for an oil change & the service adviser checked with the parts dept & they just got some in. So I had it done.
There have been a couple times my TPMS light came on for no reason, even after re-checking tire pressure.
Take a look at this link & the last section "Calibration check method".

Whichever brand you decide on, make sure they cover the factory carpet under the gas pedal & also on top of the left side dead pedal. Otherwise snow/rain will drip/run off your shoes & get trapped between the aftermarket mat & the factory carpet. I've read that this can cause a moldy smell by...
Paying more for premium gas is not going to make any difference in his car.
The OP is being told by some people to use 91 octane. The video shows that is not going to make any difference.
Just use Top Tier gasoline. I've tried Techron fuel injector cleaner (which is recommended by many people) over the years but it never seemed to make any difference. Since switching to Top Tier gas all the time I've never had any issues.
Many years ago I used a solvent to remove scratches from a floor covered with vinyl or some type of tile squares. It's like the solvent wasn't strong enough to really melt the tile & make a mess, but was strong enough to affect the brushed or fuzzy edges of a scratch because the rough edges were...
This is a photo of what had to be done to get at the evaporator in a Chrysler 300m. It's in the black plastic housing on the right side. This person did the replacement himself. Obviously a Civic is different, but this shows why changing the evaporator is a costly job.
I found a video on the...
When your extended warranty runs out & Honda won't cover suspected parts, try going to an independent shop that specializes in AC repair. If they use aftermarket parts they may be better than the OEM ones.
Amazon has multiple listing for the Horande brand & the ratings vary depending which listing you look at. It's typically very good but a couple comments say the buttons are too thick or the original internals don't fit in the case.
My wife said to use her FOB because she doesn't drive much. But...
A button broke on my FOB & I'd like to get a replacement empty shell. I superglued the tab that broke off the button but don't know how long that will last. It's the deck lid button which I never use & have no idea why it broke.
There are aftermarket empty shells on Amazon...
I don't have a problem but was curious where mine came from. Take a look at this thread.

My car was assembled in Japan & the condenser came from Thailand.
The next posting shows a condenser...
