  1. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Thank you for the kind words and am glad you have enjoyed this build and the information withinā€¦ when looking back, I realize the OCD was indeed running amok, but thatā€™s a good thing, lol. My old man memory often draws a blank so itā€™s a lifesaver to have a documented reference, šŸ˜‚ A...
  2. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Thank you Napalm. I would do well to follow your example for sure šŸ‘. The promotion ensures Iā€™ll have the requisite funds to track on the regular during my golden yearsā€¦.Now just gotta get the darned R working again as it should šŸ˜
  3. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Hello friends, Been awhile (again) since last checking in, but am still around. Time marches on so quickly, My Type R, sadly, still has the hesitation and loss of power issue. Drives ok cruising, but sputters each time I step on it and lacks full power after it gets past it. Thinking itā€™s...
  4. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Hello all, Itā€™s certainly been awhile, but happy to report am still here with the FK8. Hope you all have been well. Around the start of the year, the car developed an issue where it wasnā€™t getting full power and the boost and RPM began to lag, so much that the Sequence valved exhaust failed to...
  5. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

I do not believe it wouldā€¦ but you could ask a PPF shop to verify. My car is parked outside so the clear coat was a must ;)
  6. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Congrats on the purchase. Itā€™s a fantastic hood option. Yes, a clear coat is recommended to protect the CF from the sunā€™s UV.

  8. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Thank you adoong. Appreciate the kind feedback. I never got around to pursuing hood pins as I believe it would alter the look. For 100% certainty it could be a good idea, but have not experienced any issues with vibration using just the factory hood latch, so believe itā€™s good enough.
  9. Acuity SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING QUESTION

@casper unsure if the picture is clear. But this is the clip that needs removal. And this is the clip when itā€™s removed. Red Xā€™s.
  10. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Itā€™s been awhile since Iā€™ve wrenched on the carā€¦ but I do suggest removing the airbox to get clear access to it. The clip is stubborn for sure, but the prybar + crescent wrench trick made easy work of it. From what I recall, wedged the tip of the prybar between the engine and the clip. With a...

  12. J's Racing Fk8 Grill

Congrats on the new grill. Jā€™s Racing also sells the center badge holder and the Type R emblem that sandwiches to the grill mesh itself.
  13. Considering FK8 CTR

Congrats @ImportracerAM and welcome to the FK8 platform and community. As you mentioned adding some mods, my recommendation would be downsizing to 18ā€™s if that hasnā€™t already been done and upgrading to an Acuity fully adjustable stage 3 shifter with their shift cable bushings. I also encourage...
  14. Do I need to reset anything after disconnecting battery?

Hmmā€¦ I believe it would hold them, but I could be wrong. Only one way to find out if no one knows the answer. I always use Spotify via Apple Car play or bluetoothā€¦ so never have messed with the radio functionsā€¦ so donā€™t know.
  15. Sequence Manufacturing Titanium Exhaust

Not 100% sure on this, but perhaps while performing a boost leak check or inputting an air signal to keep the valve open, tightening this or somewhere else on the valve may lock it in place.

  17. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Thank you Jeff. The job I'm going for is a mixed bag. Am currently in supervision with a chance at transitioning to management, which is a more lucrative gig. Especially pertaining to retirement. The promotion list Iā€™m on expires the end of this year. If unsuccessful, it wonā€™t be the end of my...
  18. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Ouff. That is abit ominous sounding and hope all turns out ok. 10 years sounds like a decent amount of time, but itā€™s really not. Hell, my car is (5) years old and I still think of it being newā€¦ Am guilty of taking time (and health) for granted and tend to focus on work. While enjoyable, life...
  19. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Itā€™s been a couple months since Iā€™ve driven the Type R and the battery died while it sat. Enter this handy dandy Noco Boost Plus jump starter. (Amazon) Holds a charge for several jumps. No need to ask a kind stranger for an assist when strandedā€¦. Simply connect to the battery, positive...

Bookmarked the thread and am looking forward to reading it in its entirety. Like many others, am living vicariously through your amazing car experiences :) We...
