  1. What does everyone think of the upcoming Mazda3 2.5Turbo?

That's the issue exactly with the old style twist beam (just like the 8th and 9th gen civics had). They ride fine over most roads... but over bumps, and especially if you hit bumps while cornering, the whole back end of the car will jump and skip to one side (not confidence inspiring).
  2. What does everyone think of the upcoming Mazda3 2.5Turbo?

All part of their plan to move upmarket. My BIGGEST issue with the 3 is the fact that they cheaped out on the suspension setup and even at almost $40k there's no upgrade to an independent rear suspension. The interiors are beautiful... but the 3 has a lot of shortcomings for that kind of price...
  3. Honda Floating a return of the CRZ?

I fully agree. I test drove a CRZ back in the day. And it was a fun little car! Like a go cart. But it definitely had an identity crisis. MT mentioned making it an EV... but I think if Honda is going to bring an EV to the states, it should be a crossover.... not a sports coupe. I wouldn't care...
  4. Honda Floating a return of the CRZ?

https://www.motortrend.com/news/honda-cr-z-trademark-details-info/ According to MotorTrend, Honda has just registered the trademark for the CRZ.... As MT states, it could just be Honda sitting on the trademark so that nobody else takes it.... but with the recent demise of sporty 2 doors in...
  5. Interview with 10gen hatchback designer

It seems like this article/interview is more about the design of the 10th gen... not the 11th gen civic. It makes mention at the very start of a new civic HB for 2022, but the entire discussion is around the 10th gen HB design and it's success.
  6. Type S Gets 355 HP

Considering it'll most likely undercut the Audi S4 in price but has slightly more power, I think it'll be a success overall. Honda's focus has always been more on handling/character than outright power, so even if it isn't the most powerful option on the market, I bet they've spent ALOT of time...
  7. End of Civic Si and Coupe for 10th gen

I tend to agree with this, tho the test car we saw had traditional back door handles, I wouldn’t mind as much if the hatch hid the rear handles in the black part aft of the C pillar. There are definitely styling cues manufacturers could borrow from coupes that could translate over to sedans or...
  8. End of Civic Si and Coupe for 10th gen

Also worth noting... in the same press release, Honda mentioned we'll be seeing the mid model updated accord in a few months.... I would say, if we want a good clue as what to expect on the 11th gen civic... look at the updated accord for both styling changes and updates to features.
  9. It's Official! There will be 11th gen sedans and hatches!

Pseudo sport models are all the rage... for the hyundai N, you have the N-Line... all the show, none of the go.... Kia has the GT-Line.... same situation.... so it benefits Honda to offer a Sport trim that looks like an Si, with basically none of the major upgrades for those that want the look...
  10. It's Official! There will be 11th gen sedans and hatches!

I could see honda bumping standard 1.5T power up to 178-180... possibly no 2.0NA option anymore (just look at the CRV for that possibility). Bump the Si up to 220-230. That easily allows them to stay top of the compact class for performance on the lower trims while providing some meaningful...
  11. Have you guys seen this render?

One of the better renders i've seen. At least they didn't just smack the accord face on it and call it a day. Still think the 11th gens are gonna be more toned down, less "over styled". But not the worst thing I've seen... I just don't think it looks "next gen" enough...
  12. End of Civic Si and Coupe for 10th gen

On the flip side.... though we mourn the loss of the coupe (it or some other sporty coupe will be back someday... these things always ebb and flow with gas prices and peoples tastes, usually every 10-15 years we see a coupe boom and then it tapers off again). Lets be at least a little grateful...
  13. End of Civic Si and Coupe for 10th gen

That's a luxury level RWD/AWD coupe... not exactly the same as a mainstream FWD sporty coupe.
  14. End of Civic Si and Coupe for 10th gen

It's the hatchback but less practical for no benefit, why buy a sedan? It's a crossover but less practical, why buy a hatchback? Your reasoning is flawed. It's about personal choice. Not everyone wants or needs the extra doors/practicality of a sedan or hatchback. Some want a small, sporty...
  15. End of Civic Si and Coupe for 10th gen

It is. It's not even a true coupe. The only true coupes on the market now are RWD (not great living in the midwest) or Luxury options. The loss of the manual on the accord also has implications for the future Si.... I don't see Honda dropping the manual on the Si... but to help with sales...
  16. End of Civic Si and Coupe for 10th gen

They gave confirmation the Si would be back for 2022... no hard confirmation on the coupe body style, but guessing it's dead sadly...
  17. End of Civic Si and Coupe for 10th gen

Just posted on Motortrend and Car and Driver Honda is making some broad sweeping changes to it's lineup. They confirmed today that the Fit is in fact dead in the US market. They also more or less said the Civic Coupe is dead (motortrend treated it more as a confirmed decision, car and driver...
  18. Base model 11th gen spied in Columbus, OH

I doubt the civic will be a tweaked Crider. Given my previous post comparing the silhouette of the current gen and camo car shows the camo car shrinking ever so slightly in length due to its shorter overhangs, if the Crider falls between the civic and accord, then that would be a larger vehicle...
  19. New 2022 CTR?

I believe the render in the OP is from a guy I've come across before online when doing research. He did a very similar looking mock up of the sedan as well. Basically using pieces parts from accord, insight, civic, etc to construct what could be a fairly accurate idea of what we've seen under...
  20. What does everyone think of the upcoming Mazda3 2.5Turbo?

I like the look of the Mazda3 hatch... but after sitting in one and feeling how cramped they seem, and how far forward the B pillar is (you have to climb around it to get in) I love the civic layout that much more. Mazda has said the new 2.5T is definitely aimed more at a Grand Touring vibe...
