  1. Fell out of love with my FK8...

Getting there. Wanted to finish etuning first. But yea, Road America is awesome.
  2. Looks like CarAndDriver found out about the Type R overheating issues first hand

An IC retains cooling for the purpose of the tune, whether OEM or aftermarket. It only helps maintain power levels at any given level, with any tune, not cool an engine. Agree. I don't think the "thickness" of the IC really matters in this case. e.g., PRL's is a bar and plate design and keeps...
  3. Fell out of love with my FK8...

I've had all sorts of cars, this is the first one I can actually just drop the back seats flat, and haul a ton of crap. I put all four rims/tires in there with room too spare. There's something nice about a well handling car, with a ton of power and being able to haul a ton of stuff. I don't...
  4. Who will be disabling the Active Sound Control on the 2020 CTR?

Wait, you got rid of a speaker (sound over one), and can hear your car?!?!?! If someone can't like the car's sound, and/or want to hear it ...they shouldn't be buying one. It's like "we'll tell you when you want to hear your car". I wouldn't drive one of these with anything not sounding as it...
  5. Who will be disabling the Active Sound Control on the 2020 CTR?

No issues with my 19. Think this is all based on signal and phone, etc.
  6. Tuner said PRL HVI and TIP were a bad combo

Agreed. No issues with the TIP and the HV PRL intake. Too much air flow? Something doesn't add up. I have an eTune by Dereck. Car runs great on those and no issues tuning with either. Tuner doesn't know how to tune if that was really their statement.
  7. Brake Pad Orientation

And after putting the OEM pads back on today... Stop better for sure, but the Hawks were nice in cold weather to eliminate noise.
  8. Brake Pad Orientation

Also noting that both Hawk sets of pads ( HB453B.585 and HB453F.585 ), have the squeal tab on the same side of the pads. Meaning you can't put them on without one of them being backwards of the other (can but not right). OEM pads have the tabs on opposite sides and match service manual. Not...
  9. Brake Pad Orientation

Thought I'd share this pic as some fellow FK8 owners asked about the pad orientation on the FK8. Squeal "tab" should be on the outside of rotor and "up", as pictured. Dealerships have screwed this up numerous times while replacing suspension components. Pads will still work but put them on...
  10. Rarity!!

Kinda this. Car is not rare. Was on initial markup, but not now. It's still a very rare car when compared to the number of regular Civics and SI's you see floating around. Doesn't mean the normal person knows the difference, but you didn't buy it too be normal? In the southern portion of WI...
  11. Best sounding fk8 exhaust...

R400 with everything I have sounds great and I daily drive it through winter/summer unlike others. It's all subjective. Some will say one system sounds great, others will say it drones, or is too loud, others too quiet. I've now had two people (from the same grocery store), ask me what I had, as...
  12. PRL Motorsports P600 Honda Civic Type-R FK8 Drop-In Turbocharger Upgrade Development

And you should already have two sets of tires for track/course vs. road. If you look at any of these forums or mod your car (s) in any way, you would already know that. Take a step back and look at the alt.'s. Can you fit a full set of track wheels/tires in most cars like this? No. Functional...
  13. PRL Motorsports P600 Honda Civic Type-R FK8 Drop-In Turbocharger Upgrade Development

FK8 was never meant to put "all the power down", from launch. The point is to overtake things and have more "fun" in a usable range of power.
  14. PRL Motorsports P600 Honda Civic Type-R FK8 Drop-In Turbocharger Upgrade Development

Problem is the OP is stating in currency other than USD (not a "problem", just should be noted at start of post). Even so, ~17K+ is way to much for a motor build.
  15. PRL Motorsports P600 Honda Civic Type-R FK8 Drop-In Turbocharger Upgrade Development

Yeah, saw that down under the initial post, thanks. NTL 17K for a build? no.
  16. PRL Motorsports P600 Honda Civic Type-R FK8 Drop-In Turbocharger Upgrade Development

What? It doesn't take 25K to "build" this motor. Please trade your car if you actually think that's normal for it. And who's paying 50K USD for their car now? Maybe at launch some suckers but most are able to get one for at sticker and/or under it.
  17. PRL Motorsports P600 Honda Civic Type-R FK8 Drop-In Turbocharger Upgrade Development

Fuel system was the question. I haven't seen anything PRL is doing that would back this minus the flex fuel kit. Question was, ots map to get home or fueling addressed with installation. (were either going to be available at launch) Yes, built engines are usually stronger but that wasn't my...
  18. Looking To Go FBO Soon

Fan of PRL, look at my signature for mods, would suggest any of those. FMIC is worth it more so than the flex fuel kit.
  19. Exhaust Recommendations (Preferably w/o drone)

I guess if it still leaks a tiny amount of exhaust through, it's not fake...but I like my gurgles and pops.
  20. PRL Motorsports P600 Honda Civic Type-R FK8 Drop-In Turbocharger Upgrade Development

Any plans for fuel or is this supposed to work on stock system? I would think an ots KTuner or Hondata map would be out at launch, otherwise I don't see it reaching a lot of people.
