  1. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

In the instructions we provide: Advanced VSA: We do not recommend using advanced vsa at all. Specifically advanced vsa with aggressive ignition pull back. The reason for this is we have seen the advanced vsa strategy utilize too much correction. If you use advanced vsa, we recommend "Light...

Ok good. Advanced VSA is off and that's what John recommends on his tunes.
  4. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Here is a screenshot of my settings. The Advance VSA is off. We'll see what Mitch comes back with on his endeavor. I was working with Phearable back in July of 2021 on my issue. Haven't touched this thing since. Had to do updates and such just to open the software.

Everything including ABS? I hate traction control systems with a passion but ABS has saved my butt once or twice and would hate to lock up tires heading into a corner.
  6. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

@Chris_19Si that's odd. John Vega (@phearable ) personally told me Advanced VSA isn't recommended with his tunes. He said that doing the pedal dance and using throttle modulation is best due to AVSA overreacting and cutting timing/power. I tagged him so hopefully he'll pop by and make a post...
  7. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

I will have to check my settings in KTuner. It's been a while since I set it up. I tried it on and off in the tune and it makes a huge difference with the Phearable tune. I just can't remember what they told me to set it to. I think it has to be on in the tune but will check this evening and...

...limited to two-step only and no anti-lag as I am still catted, that and I wouldn't have enough traction to deal with boost at launch anyway. 1. VSA On - This mode is default when starting the car. When launching, it pulls power to manage wheel spin and is very undesirable when trying to go...

It's more this part about the traction control.

What's your confusion regarding Advanced VSA?
  11. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

I'm still slightly confused about the traction control thing. Is it not advanced vsa or is it something else. Also regarding the gears, here's something from a short conversation i had with circut.heart: (some double image glitch can't figure it out). Essentially don't go above 250(which is...
  12. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Done. Starter 21 flashed and active. Now I'm trying to figure out how to change power levels. I'm not sure I should trust YouTube vids. Does the ECO button still change me back to stock? Guess I should take it for a spin and find out. Duh.
  13. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

...It's missing many important features because it's a 6 year old locked tune. Run a Starter 21 instead and you'll have access to the artificial knock control removal, advanced VSA as well as adjustable turbo and throttle response features. And of course 3 different power levels available on...

...repeatability convinced me to switch back to the factory starting point with quick enables. A failing wheel speed sensor combined with Advanced VSA caused the ECU to pull timing very aggressively on and off during an overtaking maneuver, causing jerking, so I disabled that once I figured out...
  16. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

5/8/2023 update: 62k miles and still going strong I've been tuned in some form now for probably 40k now maybe? Most recently with the Phearable stage 1.5 tune and the 27WON race MAF. They removed E85 from what feels like the whole state of Utah, so I'm stuck with some Chevron 91 or VP racing...

...me when I ordered my PRL cobra from them. I just wish they had something similar with the artificial Kcon removal. I did brake boost it once with VSA fully disabled, spun from ~5mph to 50-55 and it was great fun, but I will not be brake boosting again. Ignorant teenagers let me tell ya. Also...
