Yeah - actually I do!
Or a better balance between power, suspension and simplicity.
I looked for a real race car prior to the R but never did find anything worth a damn.
Miata's are great but (old) Miatas are slow and with a race suspension beat the living snot out of you.
You know 15 years...
But - the seat wiring is UNPLUGGED there is nothing "wrong" with anything.
There is no "fault" no "problem" no "error" it just simply isn't there.
Seems like they could build that into the fault recognition program?
And let's see: you can't rev it to set a shift light because it has a limiter...
Heading to the track and with social distancing rules in place you can't have an instructor in the car with you.
On top of that I need to bring all my gear: pop-up, chair, coolers, etc.*
So I pop the passenger seat out - don't need it and it saves 30 some pounds...
So now I have info lights and...
There is a drain petcock bottom center of radiator.
Just a thumb twist to open.
Even a drain hole under it!
Prepared for a mess and didn't have one.
Specs shows 1.25 gallons of coolant and I got out very, very close to that.
Oh and it is 6.4 ounces of Motul MoCool to the 1+ gallon of distilled...
Heading to track.
Want to switch to pure distilled water and Motul MoCool.
What is the easiest, e-a-s-i-e-s-t way to drain as much of the coolant system as possible?
Does the radiator have a good old fashioned drain petcock?
If it does can you actually reach it and turn it?
Can you loosen a...
I fall asleep each night safe in the thought that somewhere in Japan a young Honda engineer is thinking along the same lines. What a car that would be! Imagine that little tiny tweak of smooth power delivery rationed out to each rear wheel independently as you exit a corner at the track! Imagine...
Just half-kidding here...
For the costs of all those mods for better off the line speeds someone should create a small electric and KERS system that sits in the spare wheel-well.
Hear me out --- let's face it - off the line a 1998 Saturn will kick the R's ass.
Imagine if you could retrofit the...
OK Here Goes:
I could go on for hours but I'll do my best to keep it short.
Here is what I came up with ---
1) Swapped out the restrictive front grill for the EBay special. Clearly a huge difference in open grill. Now whether the air passing through it has anywhere to go? I'm not so sure.
Oh goodness yeah - if you don't track it or often get stuck in Atlanta traffic in August I wouldn't mess with a thing.
I just pulled my own scoop and cut out all I could under it but still replace it without any evidence. Bought a used Type R scoop from a junk yard and got some aluminum...
Are we adding yet another "will be" to the already rather long list of "we are planning..."
Anyone have a set you can actually buy, I'm getting pretty sick of pictures of cool shit that isn't actually available.
I ordered the AeroFlowDynamics and after messing around with it for a few hours it went back in the box and will go up for sale if things ever return to normal.
Zero written instructions, zero pictures/video of how-to, zero tech. support, turns out you need to do the usual full front bumper...
Car just got back from a drive so pardon the bugs/dirt.
Had a track day scheduled for May the 4th in Alabama so I wanted to work on getting things just a little cooler under the hood but doing it on-the-cheap.
This is one of those off e-bay aftermarket grills.
Definitely opened things up and...
