Similar situation for me. I bought the Flashpro from the Honda dealership where I bought my 2020 CTR. This dealership apparently also unlocks the ECUs (not sure if they use instant jailbreak or another method). Later found out they couldn't unlock the 2020 ECU, so I got a refund on the Flashpro.
I also ordered the PRL HVI through PRL, and it was on backorder. Instead, I found it available here: https://www.evasivemotorsports.com/store/product/prl-high-volume-intake-system-honda-civic-type-r-fk8-17/
I ordered it Friday, 5/29 and got it Monday, 6/1. If you don't want to wait, order...
If you're referring to these (https://amz.run/3FEn), I was concerned about reviews that mentioned moisture getting into the housing. The non-switchback model that I got (https://amz.run/3FEq) had zero moisture complaints.
Just traded in the '19 Civic EX-L for a '20 Type R, and I'll be switching to Hondata. I've got a barely-used KTuner V2 with USB cable, OBD2 cable and mounting bracket. I don't have the original box or anything else (no instructions, if they were ever included).
It worked great...
I had the Ultra Racing front strut brace on my '19 Civic EX-L and loved that, but they were out of stock on the (different) one for the Type R, so I went with Perrin instead. I don't think it's adjustable?
Got the Type R yesterday, and ordered the following today:
HRS tail lights
Heeltoe black chrome "Civic" emblem
Depot smoked side markers (until Unity is back in stock)
PRL high volume intake
Perrin front strut brace
JDMFV rear bumper reflector overlay
Milltek non-resonated cat-back exhaust...
Hey there, RepyT. It's a freakin' blast so far. It's been about 16 years since I've had a manual, and boy oh boy have I missed it.
Just heard from the dealership where I bought it from that Hondata just added support for 2020 CTRs today (according to them), so that will be the first item...
Went to a dealership today to check out the boost blue 2020 Type R, and I think I'm in love. Never thought the wife would be ok with me trading up, but she gave the thumbs up. I think a test drive is in order...
I totally agree with you. I love the stock taillights on the Civic. I just wanted 2 changes: smoked/darker and sequential LED turn signals. I went with these puppies... these were the best I could find: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32983802923.html
Here's an older post where I had both...
