#1. Buy a hondata or KTUner. Upload a base tune. You can thank me later. Will totally change your world. And perfectly safe.

  4. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Again, I’m a hondata guy, but on that platform it’s locked to an ECU. I don’t have to log in from a laptop. My hondata can connect to any laptop. But it will only talk to the ECU it’s married to without getting a divorce (reflash to stock).
  5. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Hmm, so, I suspect I need to connect the unit to my laptop, log out, then reconnect to a different laptop, and log in, to see if this works. I wonder if I can test this with different profiles on the one laptop. I don't have access to two different windows laptops. Anywho, yeah, it looks like...

So Ktuner is locked to a laptop account and not a specific ECU? Hondata wont let you plug into a different ECU unless the previous ECU is reset to stock.
  8. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

this is correct, all you have to do is log out of your account and into another. I just tuned my buddies Si monday during the eclipse lol. (this was on Ktuner)
  9. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Don’t know ktuner but a hondata is locked to the ECU unless you reflash the ECU to stock. It is not locked to a laptop. You can plug it into any laptop. It’s only locked to a specific car unless that car is reflashed to stock and unlocked. if You’re selling the tuner with the car shouldn’t be a...

If you want, post a log here in a .zip file and I'll analyze it for you. It does sound like Hondata scales the MAF for your intake but still worth making sure.

...about the data I get back from the tuning device. From my flawed memory, it's usually negative single digits, but never more than +- 15. Hondata does supply a dropdown menu that includes the Injen CAI, so chances are they've figured out the issues everyone talks about with that intake system.

Yep. It's called custom tuning. ;) I've posted about this same exact thing over the years. I started with Hondata and their +6 tune. It was solid but basically stock-ish at lower rpm with a decent top end. Switched to KTuner and the Starter 21 as you know is great down low but disappointing up...

...on a similar setup to get an idea. I promise I will not become overzealous with this “self-tuning” and become another statistic on your failure thread!😂 I blame KTuner and Hondata for putting this much tuning power in the hands of power greedy, small displacement honda owners (just kidding).

Going with pherable when I install the rest of my bolt on’s I have sitting here. I used them on my si with k tuner yearssss ago. I never messed with hondata but it’s dope just miss the V2 screen so I can see eveything going on.
