Can see what I'm referring if click the #109 Wagner Tuning Intercooler and front bumper removal Post #6, #109, #250 Unfortunately I do not remember the size I chose, but it corresponded to whatever comes with Wagner's FMIC. I ordered them here: https://www.mcmaster.com/t-bolt-hose-clamps...
  4. Intercooler/downpipe upgrade

Wagner Tuning intercooler is a good choice and what I have. PWR or C&R Racing intercooler would be strong considerations if had to do it again. Just be sure to purchase (2) T-Bolt Clamps to get a good seal on the pipes at the intercooler. I had some troublesome boost leaks until I took that step.
  5. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

My buddy @boosted180sx gave a heads up Dream Automotive shared Eventuri is recalling their carbon fiber turbo inlet tubes, due to some reported stress failures under extreme high HP applications. Reached out to Evasive Motorsports. They checked with Eventuri and it looks like a...
  6. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Have grown to prefer the look of Carbon mirror caps over OEM white, however found double sided tape isn’t strong enough by itself to avoid this edge from lifting... which bothers an OCD supremo like me. Ordered some of this double sided tape from Michael’s. Couldn’t find it in stock at...
  7. Transmission fluid check bolt. Is there one on the Type R?

Hi Bonong96, Here is a step by step photowalkthrough that will also help. Yes there is an o-ring. Part# 91307-PR8-005 Can get them through Honda Parts Now or through your dealer. It’s a good maintenance practice to replace the o-ring each time it’s disturbed. in reality, could probably...
  8. What did you do to your Type R today?

So my buddy Steve (2019 Corvette) shared the uncut raw video of our recent track day at Big Willow. Believe this video to be far superior to the previous one I shared. If like this kind of stuff, suggest viewing full screen and with volume up. In this can see both the driver view as well as...
  9. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

Uploaded raw unedited video of our recent track day 2nd session at Big Willow, which my buddy Steve shared today: Here It's superior to the prior video, as it really captures what its like on track and shows what's happening in his rear view. Can see my car hanging tough after getting blown by...

  11. J's Racing Fk8 Grill

Pretty certain that plastic vertical bracket will need to be cut off. It will be in the way of the center badge holder.. which is supplied with with a metal support strip. The center will not sag.. at least mine hasn’t yet 😆 Have you seen the installation guide posted? J’s Racing grill Post...
  12. Does it seem like there are a lot of short term owners?

I believe the Type R is a great daily driver on 18’s. Convenient, practical, seats 4. (5 in a pinch). Rear seats fold down for storage when needed and drives like a race car on the track or on curvy roads. First year of ownership drove about 24k 2nd year dropped to 16k, including (8) track...
  13. Need help deciding to buy or not!

Blasphemer!!:bat: Haha jk! Guess it all boils down to what are your goals for the car and why you want one? If want the car to track? Be prepared to invest additional $$$ to address certain issues such as cooling and wheels/tires, if goal is to track regularly. Daily driving with maybe some...
  14. J's Racing Fk8 Grill

Yes it will fit any type R Honda front badge. :)
  15. Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R

For anyone old enough to remember the phrase “When E.F. Hutton speaks.... People listen.....” That’s how I feel about @Lust when it comes to suggestions to improve our Type Rs for track duty. Have followed several recommendations and they’ve all been money! PWR race radiator (same as...
  16. Does it seem like there are a lot of short term owners?

This. I feel the same exact way brother. :drive: Finding out this car, with the right mods, can hang tough with the big boys at the track. The limiting factor really are my track experience and skill, which are slowly improving. Maintenance and consumables are relatively inexpensive for this...
  17. Does it seem like there are a lot of short term owners?

I can envision the car possibly getting boring after a little while in stock form. For the car to ignite the soul I’m of the notion the R benefits the following mods: 18’s with good street/track tires Intercooler RMM Acuity full shifter + cable bushings (or Hybrid) Cooling mods Valved exhaust...
  18. What did you do to your Type R today?

Video from my buddy Steve’s 2019 650+ HP Corvette this past Sunday - Big Willow hosted by Edmond Lo and AROSC. I stayed in the video for the first 2:17 until Steve blew past me at 150+ MPH on the main straight but not before I passed my buddy Mario’s 2017 Acura NSX. Though no longer on the video...

  20. What did you do to your Type R today?

Set a personal best of 1:34.503 @Big Willow and received this medal for M class advanced group. Field was small. Was the first time at the track tuned and with a track alignment for the stock suspension on worn A052s. The 2019 Corvette and 2017 NSX had a 300+ HP advantage and were moved to L...
