I might be imagining things and just seeing it at an odd angle. If it's if in 0 degree angle you should be fine.

  8. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

I will tell you that my OEM Conti's did not "rollover" or shred after driving two days at Road America. Car had 2600 miles OTW home from the track. Even my 500TW tires that came on my OEM S2000 wheels did not "rollover" or shred after one track day at Streets of Willow, after how however many...
  9. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

You'll be fine. I've driven plenty of events on bad tires and or tires that are heat cycled. You'll be fine as an intermediate driver. Just monitor to pressures and any excessive wear.
  10. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

I'd say FWD is much easier to drive than RWD IMO. With FWD I've learned that you can mostly just whip the car into doing what you want it to do. With the amount of the power the car makes, it's easy to just pull through after doing some lift steering. With the S2000, I feel it's a fine line...
  11. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Insanely slow times IMO. Best I did with traffic was 2:57.03. I was braking way before each of the markers just to make sure the brakes would slow down in time. Brakes got bad after roughly the third lap and times fell off after that. Still worth the experience and seat time to practice line...
  12. Track wheel or wheel/tire guide

I thought Titan7 had a warranty to replace any wheels that were damaged during track use. That was their statement when they came out a few years back from what I remember. Titan7 Warranty Info
  13. Lust's FK8 Civic Type R Track & Street Build

Rarely notice any difference in wear. I haven't run street pads in my track cars in years other than the CTR since I drove it stock. I am replacing them more often just due to track days back to back.
  14. Lust's FK8 Civic Type R Track & Street Build

I've always used my track pads on the street. I don't like the idea of doing the extra work, just to have street pads. Yes squealing happens, yes dust happens. Is it big deal to me, no. Just don't expect to have the same feel on the brakes in the street versus when they're nice and warmed on...
  15. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Sidewalls actually looked good, didn't see too much roll over. Tire pressures were on point most of the weekend for me. Kept it around 35-36 hot, seemed my front driver got roughly 0.5 to 1 PSI higher than all the other tires. Tires got a bit greasy after 10 minutes or so, but I had fun with it...
  16. Lust's FK8 Civic Type R Track & Street Build

Yes, fully stock. Brake pads, rotors, wheels, and tires. My opinion is to always drive car as is and determine from there what needs to change. Despite knowing what will need to be changed, it's always good learning the car and seeing it's capabilities. It's far too common where I see people...
  17. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Just adding to this for experience. Drove/instructed Road America this past weekend in full stock form. Brakes, pads, and tires were all stock. Ambient temps for 65 on Saturday with rain for most of the day, and 70 Sunday sunny for most of the day. No overheating either days. Full 20 minute...
