  1. Bluetooth as audio source: what use?

Thanks for the reply. #1 solved nothing. #2 I'm hesitant to do because I don't want to end up in a state where my wife's Pixel 2--which works now and the Civic is her daily driver--won't pair with AA. #3 It's not my daily driver and my phone has almost two dozen Bluetooth pairings and even more...
  2. Bluetooth as audio source: what use?

As long as this old thread has come back from the dead, let me add: somewhere along the line, even this entirely in the phone part in my Pixel 2 broke AA pairing with the '16 Civic. For a long list of reasons, my phone lost the pairing. And now, no matter what I do, it refuses to recognize the...
  3. 1 thing you hate about your 10th gen civic?

To what others have suggested, I would also add the simplest one: make sure your tires are not over- / under- pressure. Be sure and start from the pressure spec printed on the door jamb label. This can have huge effects like you describe and TPMS may have been set to a wrong pressure calibration...
  4. 1 thing you hate about your 10th gen civic?

And, worse, didn't even look at the menu system you can see to, just maybe, work sorta a little like it works. BTW, speaking for myself, I don't begin to understand the e-brake rage. Except for J-turns and DIY lining pad replacement complication, I just don't see it as being any kind of an...
  5. Shifting from D to S and S to D

Generally speaking, the transmission's computer won't obey any commands (request) from the shifter that would cause damage. (Not sure if shifting to P has a mechanical action beyond just computer commands.)
  6. 1 thing you hate about your 10th gen civic?

I wasn't necessarily lobbying for it, but I had a car with it once and, given how rarely my parallel parking eye and skill is called for, I can say it did a better job at spotting spaces--finding small-ish spaces it knows it can readily get in that I'm less sure about--and getting into them than...
  7. 1 thing you hate about your 10th gen civic?

Parallel park. E.g., . It's not exactly a new technology.
  8. SO - What's the single WORST feature of your Civicx?

I don't see why they would want or need to do this, but if they did, in this modern age, something like an S/PDIF optical output seems to make many times more sense than analog RCA jacks from the 1940s. Just saying.
  9. How much should I worry about the CVT?

That's true of every part in the vehicle.
  10. 1 thing you hate about your 10th gen civic?

That's not a problem with push button start--that's a dumb design choice by Honda that they should realize by driving many competitor cars, with or without push button start, doesn't need to be this way.
  11. Audio Touchscreen System Tips & Tricks

USUALLY, if you hold your finger on the audio power on/off for a long time (30 seconds? maybe more?) it will force reboot it as it does a "regular" Android device.
  12. 1 thing you hate about your 10th gen civic?

By an order of magnitude, the buggy, mindlessly stupid and inconsistent UI, very laggy to user inputs (press touch target, radio reacts seconds later), voice recognition syntax that has nothing to do with terms you see on the screen when doing the same things without voice and doesn't recognize...
  13. Honda Sensing

I don't know how common it is. In both the cases I've had, the vehicle was in an LSF stopped state (i.e., not 0 mph for a half second or less or whatever the dwell is that makes the difference between LSF willing to start moving again if the vehicle in front moves, and it staying stopped). In...
  14. 2016 Honda Civic Owners Manual PDF (Sedan)

Interesting. Seems hard to imagine they changed anything significant; maybe 1 in 10,000 owners are going to stumble on this.
  15. Bluetooth connectivity issues with Android phones !

'16 Touring here. BT Pandora + USB device == no audible audio here too. (Acts like it thinks it's playing.) The Honda HU software is just very poor. It's just a characteristic of the car. Some cars have, say, poor visibility to the right rear. Honda Display Audio is bad. Just the way it is.
  16. Audio Touchscreen System Tips & Tricks

Honda really doesn't want us to use Display Audio with USB devices. That's why the UI for them is something suitable to, say, 1992.
  17. Anyone using the SAE recommended mirror settings?

Yes, for many years. Unlike 10th gen Civic, 5th gen CR-V R mirror will not go out far enough; shows lots of its own housing besides...
  18. Garmin Map Updates

Whole lotta nuthin in 9/10ths of Australia...
  19. USB device not recognized...

All sorta true. The thing will not recurse down a folder tree. So you are limited to playing from folders at one directory level at a time. (In a 2016 Civic Sedan with the firmware I'm running. it will occasionally, inexplicably, skip to playing from the next folder if I've asked for random in...
  20. Wallpaper

Aha. Not "Display Audio". My theory is no good then. In '16 Sedans with Display Audio, IIRC, the alternate skin and user wallpapers don't mix. Hopefully somebody else has a better answer for you. Sorry.
