Zero’s ‘21 SGP Sport

I was reaching the end of a lease term on my ‘18 LX sedan and decided to do a little shopping. Tried out an EX as well as a red Sport—had my heart set on that one but after what seemed like an eternity at the dealership I couldn’t get the numbers I wanted.

The following day I hit another nearby dealership to inquire about a Sport. Turned out they had one in stock, but they couldn’t sell it at the moment as it was being prepped to go sit at the auto show this weekend. After a little more research it turned out they had a ‘21 Sport in Sonic Gray that had just come off the truck and was still wrapped in plastic and styrofoam. The dealer inspection hasn’t even happened yet. They took off the plastic and did their inspection before handing it over to me for a test drive, so that’s what I did.

Immediately fell in love with it and brought it back to work up numbers. Spent another four to five hours working up figures and saying hell with sleep before going to work later that night.

Finally, just as they were ready to lock up for the night I finalized the deal!

Owned my share of Civics over the years but this is finally a big upgrade that looks closer to something I’ve dreamed of. The color really grew on me quick. Can’t stop looking back at it!

First on the agenda is getting those windows tinted. It’s a must I’m pretty sure. Then after that? Unlimited potential. Can’t wait to get started!

Personally, I feel like a red car would be a neat novelty for the moment, but would wear off pretty quickly, then it'd be too flashy.

Also, just a shameless plug: given that I do renders, if anytime you want me to take a stab at adding rims, lowering, etc. to your car, JLMK! ?? No charge or anything. I just do it for fun. ?

Running this risk of turning this thread into a giant photo dump but it’s just too photogenic! Can’t wait to get the tint done next week. Ordered some Mugen-style window visors last night, hopefully they turn out to be of decent quality.

Was out in the sunlight today, and what I thought was just a reflection on the hood is actually an imperfection in the paint. I’ve had the car less than a week, going to take it to the dealership tomorrow but I’m a bit nervous. Not sure if it shows up in the picture but it’s a long strip of lighter color just along the curvature of the hood.

Apparently it only shows up in very certain lighting situations, showed up to the dealer and they looked at me like I was crazy since it wasn’t visible.

Got these semi-“Mugen” style visors in today and test fit them, appears to be a perfect fit! Will these get in the way of my tint job next week if I put them on now?

I know it's hard to resist. I would tint FIRST, then install those. You want the best tint job possible, and even the most experienced tint guy would prefer those off before he tinted your glass.
