the ac/radiator is kinda exposed on the civic. So I used aluminum mesh to back up the openings. I opened up the faux rear vents and used the same mesh behind those. Looks good, I don’t think it helps anything. (Don’t mind the dirt, been getting a lot of rain, and I did a long drive yesterday)

I cut the slots in the Intake hole, they actually block half of the opening. Below this hole is a splash guard that I cut out, now there is a pretty open shot into the air box. I monitored before and after iat, it dropped average temps down. Hardly gets over 10*f over ambient. Cools down from heat soak quicker too.
I had a rodent problem. They had chewed some rubber and made a nest on the inner fender liner insulation. I wrapped all the exposed wires that i could get to with Honda’s spicy rodent tape and I spray the peppermint repellent around the engine bay every couple days. So far I haven’t seen a return. I hate rodents, and rust.
I installed the ktuner. It’s a nice difference, not crazy. Having vtec in a useable rpm was the main goal. And for future tuning. I also modified the air box to allow direct air in. Much better and you can hear the intake some. Between the tuner, airbox and tip, the exhaust note has changed. I’m really happy with the sound, and it’s still hush hush enough for neighborhoods.
fresh detail this morning.
Maintenance today. Oil change with Honda filter and new crush washer.
I cleaned the throttle body. But got excited and decided to trim that little fin inside the intake opening. So off with the intake. I noticed a lot of oil build up in the intake, I’m getting blow by. The PcV seemed stuck, cleaning it didn’t help. So I ordered a new one. I’ll replace it and keep a close eye on it.
Trining the intake helped. I can feel more torque steer and throttling between shifts is snappier.
I replaced the pcv valve with the new Honda part. It didn’t seem any different than
the old one. I may have just wasted money on it??.
I’m going to add a oil separator down the road, cause the oil in the intake is not cool by me.
In other news my Whiteline rear sway bar showed up, I think the springs might be here tomorrow. So maybe this weekend I’ll have something to do after work.
