On August 21st, 2017, mere hours before a solar eclipse, my black 2016 Civic Touring Sedan was rear-ended by an 80,000-pound semi-truck, spinning me into a 180. I was on the south end of Salt Lake City, 800 miles from my home in Tucson, on my way to Idaho to see the eclipse. When I bought it, my Touring was the best Civic money could buy. I was determined to bounce back from the collision with the best Civic again. That meant a Type R—and its name is Epyon.

Epyon is a mobile suit from the Gundam franchise. Red with black trim and sharp aggressive styling, the Epyon was designed for quick close-quarters combat. It was first mobile suit with a "Zero System," providing the most direct control and battle data. By eliminating all distractions, Epyon can show a pilot his true enemy and reveal his future.

The plaque number of this Type R is 322.

And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." — Genesis 3:22

I can appreciate this. I was recently thinking RX-78 would be a cool name or license plate for one in championship white!

Dropped it off this morning for paint correction and Ceramic Pro Gold. Should have it back in a few days. Hope he can get whatever this mess is under the driver-side door.

My dealer added IBEX without my asking. The Cpro guy says he'll just scrub it off.

After this will be dashcam installation wired through the pillars. While doing that I can add something to stop the pillars from rattling (yes, the driver-side A-pillar started rattling after I exited the freeway on the drive home).

Dealer-installed tint was part of the deal to acquire the Type R, but they installed the wrong tint, so I will have to drive 100 miles back to the dealer and have them reinstall it once their next order comes in.

After the Cpro cures there's one more thing I want to add before it's ready for the world.

Picked the car up from getting coated and it looked fantastic! If anyone needs a contact for Ceramic Pro in Tucson, let me know.

Drove back to Tempe to get the proper tint installed. I asked for ceramic but they installed Suntek CXP. Now I have Suntek CIR, which blocks more heat with more visibility.

Also went to The Specialists on Speedway to have them install my new dash cam. Flawless work.
