Reviving an old thread to tease a current project. More coming as spring approaches ?

I was thinking about setting up port meth injection once I get my motor back. I've seen some concerns though about drilling/tapping the plastic manifold and removing those support ribs in the plastic.

If it came down in price by like $300.
I looked at it as well, probably 8-900 CAD before import fees to get it to my door. Pretty steep for something with nearly no reviews, dyno plots, or airflow plots.

That meth plate is pretty cool. I am new to the meth situation. I need to read more on it. Is there much to be gained by injecting it into the charge pipe. I have the port on my 27won pipe.

I have mine set up that way right now. Didn't get as far as tuning it before the motor went though lol. It's a very common way to do it and would definitely work. The issue is when you get to high flow rates, you'll potentially run into uneven distribution among the cylinders. That's were port injection shines.

- is meth preferred over nitrous?
- do you just hold a button while it sprays and that is the duration of your increased power?

I've seen 50-80 thrown around but I think it comes down to how aggressively you tune

Tuning is required for any hp gain. You can just spray without a tune. It will actually slightly lose you power according to DRob but it has many benefits in dropping IATs and knock prevention even if there's no timing advance tuned in

I'm really not sure on this one

Most kits have a progressive controller. So mine is tapped into manifold pressure. It begins spraying at a minimum flow rate at 5 PSI for example. And it's set to top out at 24 PSI. So the flow rate just gradually increases linearly between the start and end setpoints. It's fully automatic, no BOOST button :p

AFR will be RICH & power will be lost not due to no ign advance.
YES tuning is required & YES it is BEST to have failsafe in place.
Like i said OP will be ahead of me while i'm waiting on other parts & to figure other stuff/add-ons out & also the delay due to partial lockdown here in my country because of covid cases going up.
Looking fwd to see it in action & it does really look familiar haha, well done OP , pls keep us updated.

@kshawn crazy man! Excited to see what crazy amount of meth numbers you make without a port injection system! GTX2867 ||? Or 60? Very interested in peak WTQ specifically and power band range.
