Anyone into racing drones or RC?

I've been into RC almost my whole life. Mostly RC airplanes, some Cars, and for the last 12 years FPV (first person video) via airplanes, quadcopters or cars.
Anyone else out there into this stuff?

Mostly cars and boats have 7 cars 1 old deep Vee nitro boat and sail boat. Do to I work weekends and off during the week I pretty much have the track to myself haven’t used the boats since I been in Florida I heard stories of gators attacking the boats. Had one quad chopper in NY unfortunately it got damaged

Wow! Nice collection!

I’m mostly into cars but I collect stuff I find cheap so I’ve acquired a collection (collection makes it sound fancy...call it a junk pile!) of electric/nitro cars and trucks, vintage Tamiya, crawler, helicopters (haven’t gotten those going) airplanes (not running) and a couple fiberglass nitro speed boats. It’s like a toy store of projects in my basement.

Don’t get much time to work/play with them. Last time was when it snowed a few weeks ago.

As far as racing drones a long Time ago I saw some thing where they were using the FPV cameras and they were going through all these hoops and everything like that and the hoops were lit up! It was crazy looking. It look like something from a Star Wars chase in space! Speaking of which I have one of those toy X-wing fighter drones.

couldn’t see much as I don’t have Instagram but I saw some and peeked at your videos and that’s some really nice stuff!!! Great videos, very professional!

I like the scale crawlers. I think it’s because I used to do model cars and the realism is really nice.

Have you seen the HG P407? They are controversial because of how close they are to the Tamiya Bruiser. I try to be ethical but my wallet can’t pay $800 for a Bruiser so I got one at a tad over $200. Couldn’t resist. So much metal ina truck for $200! I made a pseudo John Wick Mustang from a beat up 1970 Boss 302. John Wicks car was a version of a 1969 Mach 1 with a 428 engine if I’m not mistaken.

Personally I’ve never seen it but heard guys at the hobby shop experience it but that’s in the summer winter or cooler weather
Gators are in hibernation. I want to get my nitro boat running but by the looks of it I’ll have to take apart the engine for a deep cleaning

I have a traxxas 4x4 ultimate with an upgraded battery, fan, and tires but I haven’t used it in years but as a kid I remember that thing could go like 50 miles per hour at least lol I used to race cars passing in the neighborhood and take it to the nearby track

I like the scale aspect of the hobby too but get the most excitement from non-scale EDF "jets". Only about 5-10 minutes of flying, and I'm always a nervous wreck when I land lol.

Funny you mention about racing cars. I have a brushless 2 Wheel drive Slash and I was just fooling around in the parking lot of a high school when someone came up to me in a Mini Cooper and asked me if I wanted to race. Of course I had to take him on. I had just gotten the truck and not used to using it and I had some wheel spin but my little RC truck caught up to him by the end of the parking lot! And that was only on a 2s lipo. A 3s will torque the truck and flip it on its roof!

was just thinking how Stressful that would be! I often see RC boats for fishing but if you catch something big your boat is a goner.

I’ve had a few traxxas cars and have two left jato and nitro 4 tech
the only two nitro cars I have other than the boat now my collection is Arrma/horizon

I used to big a big proponent of nitro stuff especially if youve been playing with RC for a while. Lipo batteries imo made nitro not as popular but I see a little resurgence of the nitro stuff lately but mostly larger scale stuff.

I used to like to peruse Craigslist for old nitro stuff cheap and pull apart a seized engine and tinker with it. That was the fun part. I even got one free, an old Team Associated RC10gt. Some times you get nice deals like sometimes people just get out of the hobby and sell stuff cheap. I don’t have a lot of time and money so RC stuff is a fun outlet for me when I have a chance.
