I opted for no coating because I was going to get them painted to match. Also they did not put the MAF sensor in. I deleted it because motec doesent use it.

broke out my tools to start taking things off. Was anxious to tear into it.

Only issue was a bolt broke on the turbo, but the stud is sticking out far enough to weld a nut to it and try again.

Nice billet oil feed with external thread milling. Was expecting just a 1/8 tapped plate with a adapter fitting.

Thank you matco guy for selling me these stud removers.

I thought i had a boost leak given the very late spool. I pressure tested it to 20 psi and not a peep. The flapper on the wastegate even tho it was bottomed out in adjusment, the bracket full race supplies must have been bent a little too far. I put 4 washers behind the wastegate bolts to space it back some. The flapper is tighter now and actually bends the bracket when the gate is at 0% duty. Hope this fixes my issue. The gate on the EFR turbo is much bigger than stock and doesn't need to open much to release too much exhaust gas

purple line is boost, green line is throttle. It is to ~6000 rpm. This should spool ~4000

My little washer trick fixed it. Full boost ~4000 rpm. Put more tension on the flapper to seal it better.

Need a more permanent solution, like the shims PRL offers.

I also flipped the floating spacer around so that .040 or so is added to my adjustment.

I had the full race intake piped to my takeda intake by a local fab shop. Am going to get everything powder coated when im finished. Was not going to use that open air solution they provided.

Also wired the turbo speed sensor. I have a gm weatherpack crimper and it did the trick

I could hear the car popping.. which lead me to look into closing the gap. I did some research and was told to gap to .020 and even down to .017. That .020 is knocking off 1/3 of the oem gap. I elected to go to .024 instead to see if .020 was actually needed. I Closed the spark plugs gap and the knock sensor noise is noticibly lower. Looks like even a stock car would benefit from a slightly tighter gap.

First picture is a 2nd gear rip and then a 3rd ger pull, second picture is just a 3rd gear pull.

The first one is after the tighter gap.. less "spikey" and overall average noise is lower. Still need to go lower, you can see cyl 1 misfires up toward the end.

The second picture is has a greter amplitude of the sensor from it being so close to blowing the spark out and then actually doing it.

The car felt cleaner on the but dyno now all 4 cylinders were completing a spark and not being blown out- for the most part. You can see cylinder 1 on the first chart start misfiring. So .024 is BETTER, but not not all the way there.

Cliffs- You should gap your plugs, it may even reduce false knock and eliminate blow out.

Decided to put some heat protection on the turbo since the factory had head sheilds and this did not. The under hood temps, specially hot to the hand was the inlet pipe. Trying to find the best way to reduce inlet temps.
The PTP blank is specifically made for EFR turbos. The quality is pretty good id say. Install i had to remove the waste gate arm to fit it under there without smashing it too badly.

Yes it helps tremendously.. containing 8-900 degree heat is way worse than 90 degrees of ambient heat

I bought it from full race, but anything on ptp website just make an account and put in your cart. Few hours later they send you a 10% off coupon. Found out after I bought it.
