It's typically 90 days. Hold on to it and pay it down on day 91 and the dealership will get paid.
I don't think you have to but I wouldn't mind waiting 91 days to do the dealership a favor after that deal, wow.

Correct.

Right. They can't stop you, but it is a huge dick move to fuck them over like that when they helped you out. Typically, these bonuses are paid up front, so when you pay it off super early the dealership has to pay back the kickback. They notice.
Thanks I'll ask that question when I go buy, since I plan to pay it off early if it's above 1.9%.

You actually worry about a dick move being perpetrated on a dealer? They do it daily to their customers. I say, use whatever method we have at our disposal. Get the deal. Pay it off. Simple as that.

I visited a local dealer yesterday. The have a white Si. I want blue but went to take a look and see what numbers looked like. Here is where we left it for now:
Adjusted sale price: $25,500 (less than MSRP)
Trade in (2018 EXT coupe in really good condition): $13,554
Difference: $11,946
Tax: $717
Doc Fee: $389
License\title fee: 178
Out the door: $13230 (Plus my payoff on trade)

Not a horrible deal. Wish the $1000 Honda loyalty was still on and the 1.9% financing. I told them I'll wait for blue. I just hope the stars all align in a few weeks.

You can do better. No reason we should pay higher prices now than before Covid. It might take a couple months.

There were two blue ones up here and both went to no discount dealerships.

I'm looking at a Civic Hatch Sport, and my local dealer told me that he can't budge much on price b/c of the low inventory. He only discounted $400.

I plan on emailing a bunch of dealerships around me who have the car in stock (color doesn't matter). The MSRP is $24,650. How much do you think I reasonably negotiate down for an OTD price?

What's the highest warranty I can get for this car? I plan on keeping it for as long as possible, 10+ years or so.

I can pay cash, however am happy to finance fo a better discount. Should I mention this in the talk about the car (finance then pay it all off on day 91), or keep mum about it to get a better deal?

Best I'm getting at around 10 different dealers here in SW pa since covid started, is 23,125 before incentives. Then add the tax & title stuff. I've seen others on here getting deals in mid to low 22k prior to covid.

unless they tell you there is a discount if you finance; don't say anything until you finalize the price.

Absolutely, but yeah, they can't legally limit when you pay off the loan, they're just going with the odds that most buyers won't pay it off in 3 months.
Beware - Depends on the State where you live, or originate the loan, or where the lender is incorporated. It may involve pre-payment penalties or "hidden" financing mechanisms (calculations).

I am in the market for the same car. Trying to find a Polished Metal Metallic has been very hard in the Midwest. Prices have been between 22K to MSRP with most around the 22-22.5K range. They are starting to show up in the next couple of weeks from cars that were made late last month so if you can wait, I would do so.

Honda extended warranties can be bought after the fact from other dealers for up to 10 years. These sellers can sell them for much less than the finance departments that you will end up dealing with. Ping me if you need a contact.

I have negotiated for Honda's for family who live in the Austin area. I have found that San Antonio Honda dealers are more willing to deal and the cars are not loaded up with a bunch of dealer add-ons which the dealers in Dallas tend to load up their cars with them.

I took delivery of my 2020 Hatchback Sport on May 27th of this year. Stickered around $24.7K. Dealer came down to $22,000 before TTL. This was in the Chicago area. Dealers have to move these cars off their lots. Wait until the last week of the month on any given month and they will make a good deal. They have incentives to move a certain amount of cars per month from the factory.

I live in Texas, so there's no early payment penalty. My local dealer said that the financing would be through Honda and not through the dealership directly, so they don't discount with financing. Idk how much of that is BS

BS, they told me they get $300 if I finance with Honda's 1.9%. They may get more if you finance with them but it's not zero.

The $300 "kickback" to the dealer from the finance company (Honda) isn't the issue, it's how much interest you're paying and what are the "hidden" items regarding an early payoff and if the total interest for the term of the loan is front-end loaded into the payments. READ THE CONTRACT before signing.

I leased a 2020 Honda Civic (15 miles on it) for 3 years for $250/mo. which includes tax, title, fees. I get 12k per years in miles. I paid an optional $10 a month extra for insurance in case I do minor damage. No money down, but I gave them my 2009 Chevy Malibu with 133k on it. (fair condition).

The national sale right now is $200/mo with no money down, but that's on the base model and I didn't want it (need heated seats and remote start!). Also, my credit isn't great so that affects the price.

What do people think? OK deal?
