Just curious what peeps actually think it cost to build something for yourself as apposed to paying someone to do it for you. Assuming you have all the tools needed and patients to complete a project, what would you think is fair based on items displayed.

I think a few hundred for a finished carpeted fitted box is fair, provided it's been sound tested and sounds decent. Sealed boxes are pretty easy to get right, just have to get the right volume for your sub. Ported dimensions are trickier and might take trial and error and more specific to sub. I've fabbed the rear vents and still have template. I laser a piece to seal the front passenger vent too.

Good info.. Yea these are stacked fabbed boxes and took days to design to hug the contours of the trunk.

Cool. Did you make them? What's the internal volume and what sub did you pair it with? I've been thinking of glassing out the spare tire area for a SA X 10 or 12 but it will probably be too huge to fit.

0.6 cubic foot or 17 liters. Had a jl 10tw1 in it for starters and sounds good. Iv yet to put in my alpine 12" r series to c how it sounds. I went this route to keep the spare tire.

The shallow version go for $390.00. Both shallow and deep boxes are carpets with 12 g wire.

Ive been cutting these by hand. Not fun. My router guy is out of business ever sence this covid hit. I sometimes have to get ahead and pre cut these and have them ready to staple and glue to do a quicker turn around.

Cool. Looks nice for sure. I just pulled some easy s shaped ones I made. Been thinking of doing this one but that can of worms... This premium stereo is a joke. Your front vents turned out nice. You finishing the rears with the LEDs too? Post pics of the fronts after you install. Probably have to paint it black inside there because theres a big silver crash bar.

I didnt think to put leds on them. Im guessing thats to hi light the vent holes at night? Premium stereo..do u mean the price they charge? Very nice subs u got there..also that alpine. Where are you putting those boxes? Yes i paint these garnishes. They are used and have them repainted after i put in a lot of work carefully cutting them out and all the other stuff before i sell them.

Nice. They look good in gloss. You'll have to paint behind the bumper though because there's a huge silver aluminum crash bar behind it.. I haven't painted behind my rear vents yet but I'll probably spray black undercoat soon. I used the red lights in the rear but I dig the smoked lens they have now. I also bought red 5050 led strips to hide behind the bumper to let bleed out the vents but I think it might be a little much. Maybe have fun and see how it looks.

I actually dig that idea. U know, its really not too much. I say go for it because your not always going to appease everyone on how you car looks. I know i come up with wierd ideas and its a hit or mis. Take for instance these vents with holes. The rears were meant to re route exhaust pipe out through the garnishes. Mind u the outer aluminum trim can be reduced down to look a little better. Same thing applies to the front garnish with hole expose. To ME..its would make the civic look like it just came out from some apocoliptic place or kinda of mad max look. Some may like it and some dont. But at the end....some peeps would appreciate the effort for having your rear mesh light up red at night or having exhaust come out the vents. It just takes the brave to do it and you maybe surpized on other now all of a sudden wanting to do the same thing.
