It says its a 2 liter but it doesn't say it's detuned. The RDX has the same Accord 2.0 and isn't simply detuned, there's quite a few differences making it different, even down to the block. I assume the TLX 2.0 uses the same motor. However, I could be wrong.

Differences that come to mind if I remember correctly are:
-turbo
-pistons
-rods
-exhaust valves
-cams
-block (Accord has a balancer shaft)
-oil pump
-intake manifold
-fuel system

Right now all I can wish is a nasty ILX Type S with the same CTR engine. Something to compete with the Audi S3.

Honestly, if the ILX Type S has the Accord motor in it it should compete well with the S3. Granted it would be nice to get an ILX Type R with the CTR motor in it and some suspension stuff ;) I personally feel that the 11th gen camo shots that turned up recently are of an Acura and not a Honda, but that's me.

Sounds like the exact same engine/transmission as the RDX. Not necessarily the same as the CTR, as others have stated. Good news is, getting K-Tuner support should be cake!

Double wishbone suspension and SH-AWD should make this handle extremely well. The 10speed is great too.

I hear they try to hide those... If you overlay the images, the outlines line up perfectly.
You sold me - that thing is to fat to be the next Type R - also I would think we would see a base Civic first before a Type R even appeared

That S-Type sounds sick though... 3.0L TT V6? That ought to be a hoot!

I have a feeling the Type S is going to be a wee bit too expensive for my budget sadly.

It's missing a pedal.
Honestly, I don't think a stick would've sold as well in this segment. There's always the possibility of something in the next ILX if we're lucky

I've been waiting for Acura to stop being a boring, Lexus/Audi also-ran, and it looks like I get to keep waiting.
Which luxury manufacturers still offer manuals? I don’t think any of the Japanese ones do. BMW might still have some models. I think Audi has moved completely auto, same with Merc. I could be wrong though.

Edit: I’ll agree though, it could use a third pedal.

You and me both.

Acura should totally do an ILX Type R.
