Why not going to a smaller wheel size like 18’s or 19’s and having a taller tire? I would go 255/35 on a 19in wheels or go on 18’s with 255/40 will get you close to stock wheel size without destroying your speedometer speed rating. 255/40r20 will be driving faster than your speedometer (Ex. at 65mph you'll be going 70mph.. compared to stock 245/30r20)Has anyone tried 255/40 tires on the stock fk8 rims. I live in nyc an potholes are everywhere. Any help would be appreciated
Keeping the stock wheels for now. I know ppl ran 255/35r20 with no Rubbing but how about 255/40r20 will I be rubbing ? yeah the bronx is pretty bad with the potholes. ill just run 255/35r20 till i get some new wheels255/40 adds over a full inch of sidewall to the tire in comparison to 255/35. Highly doubt it would work
The one time I took my car on a trip North of Maryland, I went on some highway that passes the Bronx and I hit a pothole that must have gone down to the ninth circle of hell. Wheel bent to shit. Bought 18 inch wheels when I got back home. Highly recommend biting the bullet and getting 18" wheels
It’s the downfall of big wheel sizes, the tires run small sidewalls. That’s why a lot of people with fk8’s are going to smaller wheel sizesyeah the bronx is pretty bad with the potholes. ill just run 255/35r20 till i get some new wheels
