How about the front vents, can I put 17-19 vents into '20 bumper?
My 2019 Type R does not have the deeper profile rear bumper. I checked under the bumper. It's going to have to be dremeled out. Maybe the later 2019 have the deeper profile but mine was bought around May 2019.
Picture attached is an oem bumper of 2020 Si sedan, which is similar to hatchback as well. If your rear bumper cover don't have the cutout, then you need to dremel it.

Got mine January 2019, so very likely not then. Thanks. It's plastic that had to be dremeled out, no? Does it really have to be in this entirety?

Also, just wanting to let you know since you also own a Type R that the honey comb design is different on the regular civic vs the Type R. Just in case missed it :) I think the part numbers are already out for the Type R version.
Yes, you do need to cut that much. Look at the OEM bumper cover of the 2020 sedan Si.

There are no sensors behind those front blanks on the Sport at least. I've pulled the bumper to do the fogs and they are just the pieces. People have already swapped the new ones to the old car so no problem.

Do both the front and rear bumpers need to be removed to swap these pieces out?

No, but it helps if you do.

Each rear garnish is secured with tabs and 2 self taping screws though, so you need to get your arms in the rear bumper cover to remove those screws.

Bummer. Sounds like something I wouldn't be able to do on my own.

Rear bumper cover has to come off, to do the cutouts for the 2020 vents. It's not that difficult to take off, just watch some videos on it, and take your time.

Found a video on removing the rear bumper cover. I'm guess the front bumper cover needs to be removed too since additionally the front has fog lights.

It's going to be far easier to do with the bumpers off since you can possibly bend stuff or break tabs when you are trying to shove your arm in there. Those tabs are easy to break as well if you don't push them out properly.

Hey, thanks for providing the information, did you ever get the front vents on?

Should I expect to have to cut out my front bumer (2017 Sport Hatch) to fit the updated "whisker" vents?
No, the front panels are flat on the backside, and just pop right in. However, taking the front bumper cover off is considerably more of a pita than the rear!
I decided not to do the front because I have discovered King Motorsports, and some very nice Mugen garnish pieces instead.?
