Dont know if you all have the same but I started to hear some light metal ring (like something is loose ringing during cruise). Looked around and noticed that the wastegate arm was quite loose. Are your arms the same?

Mine is the same, I sometimes hear it as a very faint metallic sound if I am in gear and pressing the gas, doesn't make any sounds stationary.

It is only loose when the engine is off, actuator is unloaded, start it up and check it.

I also have this sound issue - @wassen have you had the sound come back since you tightened it?

I've read that tightening this can cause the waste gate to stick open.

This is the difference between a manually actuated wastegate and electrics. Manual has constant tension whereas electric does not.

The sound will occur due to lack of tension and happens on all electric waste gates.

Reviving an old thread....
Possible wastegate actuator rattle on video. Listen closely at the deceleration about 1:14.
Very metallic sound on throttle down.
Let me know what you think it is.

Were you ever able to get this figured out?

I definitely have the wastegate noise. I posted about it when I first got the car. I’ve owned multiple turbo cars and never had the noise before. It’s quite annoying.

update:

I did a pull in 1st gear a couple weeks ago and hit the limiter. didn't mean to do that but engine is broken in so shouldn't be a problem. but i realized ever since i did that, my wastegate rattle has disappeared. no more noise!

maybe it just needed to see the entire RPM range to self-calibrate properly.
