Now that's more like it!
Put me on the wait list.
Or let me know where I can buy one.
I'll take a factory scoop replacement in a heartbeat.

I like the factory scoop replacement, just need to investigate lower profile fasteners. Any reduction of engine temps?

We have some vents sets being cut right now, our own design. We 3D scanned the hood top and bottom to fit the vents perfectly, and used CAD airflow data for design. Ours are primarily designed for true track enthusiasts and have a panel that replaces the stock scoop, as well as 3 other panels to properly open as much of the hood as possible. They will be $295 a set in a raw aluminum and will include support strips for the 3 larger vents to stiffen them, on the underside, as well as hardware to mount the scoop replacement panel. The other 3 can be attached with small bolts, rivets, etc, your choice. Attached are some pics of the full design as they lay out on the hood as well as some of our hood with the scoop replacement. We are making 4 sets initially.
This looks like a fantastic option. Curious to see what it looks like with the other 3 attached. Would also be great to get some actual data of temps compared without the vents.

I don't know why USR is so underappreciated on this forum and facebook. You guys have the most functional equipment for actual racing.

That hood scoop vent replacement is actually a decent idea. Rain guards would be a nice idea as well IMO. Though it would lower the effectiveness of the design.

Any reason you couldn't swap the factory "scoop" and this one between track and daily driver?
And - the grill of your car is a giant screened hole you are just adding another one?

You still need to cut an opening underneath the scoop on the factory hood. Otherwise, the vent is useless. I’d get a salvaged factory hood to do the operation and keep the mint hood for later (resale?).

I LOVE IT! Is it easy enough to swap out for a track day then swap the other back?

Any pics under the hood? I want to see if there any cuts on the bracing
Couldnt something be made that would be direct replacement without cutting the hood?. Remove gutters and bolt the new piece in. Should extract just as well as it fed only reversing the design flow.

On second thought that may not be far enough forward on the hood to extract so maybe not....

If you can get air flow from the grill to flow over the engine and out through the vent it may be able to do its job cooling.

It is easy to see the heat waves escaping the vent on a Camaro 1LE hood, can you see them with the replacement hood vent?
