For those with the Acity shifter.
Honda Civic 10th gen My anti theft option 20200218_132518

Been playing around with different shifter rods, to make it easier I put a zipper in the boot.
Now since its fast and easy to swap or take off, it occurs to me that it would make a good theft deterrent.

Thieves pretty much just tows the car with a stolen tow truck if they really really want to steal it. Only takes them a couple minutes. But I guess a removable shifter helps keep petty thieves away. Why not the mr bean way and make the steering wheel removable?

Relay attack is the easiest way to steal our cars.

They don't even need the antenna if they stand by you at a Starbucks while their buddy rips your car.

Do they steal the tow truck with another stolen tow truck? And the latter with yet another stolen truck? Where does it end?

Eh, honestly that’s what insurance is for.

If they want my car bad enough, take it. Yes, huge inconvenience, but It’s a lease, I didn’t put much money down, and if it gets stolen and written off, it just means I can get a 2020 Type R in Boost Blue that much quicker ;) I get full rental coverage and I have GAP protection so really, it’s just a car to me.

Not only that but most people can’t drive manuals to save their life where I live. So that alone can be a deterrent :p
