I found a blue CTR for a hundred bucks over invoice but they are charging a 300 buck fee for vin etching which they refuse to take off and a 300 buck doc fee. Thoughts?

Still seems ok to me, that's still under MSRP all told. I got mine by traveling so sunk ~250 airfare to get it for 35750. If you're close to that or under I'd jump on it.

Car is amazingly good, and I've had a ton of Mustangs in my past. Different than a Mustang but so much fun to be had!

WTF is Vin etching though?

VIN etching is an anti theft deterrent where the VIN is engraved on the windshield. 300 bucks is ridiculous considering it really costs 25 bucks or so

I really want to dew it but the 300 buck vin etching and doc fee really bugs me a lot. Moreso the vin etching than the doc fee

So keep looking / expand your search radius. I flew ~300 miles and saved 6k over what was offered in town. You can find the deal you want just gotta keep pinging dealerships. If you can swing it, look in Louisiana, that's where the deals are around me.

I'm really finding a lot of Honda dealers worse than Ford dealers lol. I contacted a couple in IA, MN and ND (where the weather is scheduled to be -20 this week) and they all refused to budge.

i think it should be easier to find a deal on the 2019s now that 2020s have been announced. Check out Cargurus for the one longest on the market and give that dealer a call.

If you can't find a better deal, go for it. Don't understand why a doc fee that's a little higher than normal and a mandatory etching would detour you.

If it was me, I would jump on that deal asap. Not many places sell at or near invoice.

Have them remove outrageous etching and doc fees or walk. Don’t give in.

eMailing a few dealers tonight, and many (most) are still asking $5k over MSRP, so your deal is about $8,000 under those guys. Doc fee is common, $300 for etching? Meh. Who cares. That's less than 1% of the car's price.

Think of it this way, they are selling you the car at $300 over invoice and free etching.

I am a grinder when buying and would offer to pay $35k flat, if they won’t take it keep looking. 2019’s will only get cheaper.

You would pass up an invoice (almost) deal for $300? Might consider the bigger picture here. If I’m the dealer and you are grinding me for the $300, I want to you to go somewhere else. And $300 dealer fee is on the lower side of dealer fees.
