Hello fellow Civic X drivers! I'm Clayton and I'm in the process of buying my first new car; ( Civic LX ) not too sure when I will finalize everything ( as I have to sell my Jaguar first ) but as soon as I do, I will post more.

I chose the Civic because I wanted something that has character, gets great MPG, and reliable ( I plan on keeping it for a very long time! ) I love my current car which is a 2001 Jaguar, but it's very expensive to maintain and only gets 10.5 MPG on average.

Glad to be part of the forum and I hope to get to know everyone and the brand within the next few months! :)

Hey guys, been reading/looking on recent post and pictures about the 10gen civic and it really helped me out choosing the right color, between 2.0 and 1.5 engine plus reviews from youtube. I went ahead for the EX 2.0 at the end and I do love it.. here it is!

Hey all,

Just joined the forum. Got my Touring last year, the weekend before Thanksgiving. The weekend right before that I had taken my '14 Civic in to my dealer for an oil change (had free service for the first 5 visits) and saw the Touring (first and only one on the west coast at the time) sitting on the showroom floor. I hadn't even heard about it before that, but after sitting in it and driving it I just knew I had to have it. Came back the next weekend, traded in my '14 (which only had 6500 miles on it), drove it off of the showroom floor and straight to Yosemite National Park for the weekend. Put just over 700 miles on it the first weekend I had it.

Not wanting the tires to get too cold, Thanksgiving weekend I took it to Pismo Beach to visit family, and had put on another 1100 miles by the time I got back home. 1900 miles in the first 9 days (211 miles average per day!) I owned it, and I LOVED EVERY SECOND. Still do! I've only put on another 4000 miles on in the 7 months since then, though.

Wish I had a job where I could afford to trade in a one year old car on another new car. I hadn't bought a "new" car in over 20 years or any other car for 10 years before I bought this Civic. Congratulations though.

It's more just a different train of thought, Bob. You buy or lease (usually lease) a car every three years, you get a maximum return back on your purchase, though it's more than offset by depreciation. But you get a brand new car, if it matters to you that much.

I don't care about style, so any car will last me a decade EASY. I prefer to drive them into the ground.

Thanks! My job certainly helps make it doable, but I can't say it was the best financial decision. Even though the '14 was so low mileage and in perfect condition, I still had to eat a few thousand dollars on it. The reason it was worth it? That '14 was not only boring and excruciatingly slow, it was the first car I had ever bought brand new... for my now ex-wife.

A few months after we divorced she no longer needed the car (or the payments, surprise, surprise), so I let her give it back to me. I drove it for a while but didn't like it much, other than it being a brand new car, so when I saw the Touring I felt extra-good about splurging and purchasing FOR MYSELF this time.

Hi, all! Angela, here. I'm super new to the Civic camaraderie and community, for a lot of reasons, but I'm loving what I see in this forum. Admittedly, I was one of those people who used to mock previous generations for the boring, unimaginative egg-like shape. (My friends know just how much trash I've talked over the years, so if I get my paws on a tenth generation as planned... I'll never hear the end of it)

Dunno what it is about this car, but I say bring on the backlash--this ride looks totally worth it!!!

A few years ago, I was handed down a 1998 Volvo V70 (turbo on a wagon is surprisingly fun lol). Sadly, old Viola is close to pasture so this will be my first ever new car. Which is terrifying. And exciting. And wallet-emptying. But AWESOME to think about. Bottom line, I'm still looking forward to getting one like most folks here.

Any advice on new car ownership, or Civic ownership is much appreciated. See ya in the threads! :headbang:

Hey everyone, the name is Abi.
wanted to be a member for about a week now, finally made an account. I got my 2016 Honda Civic lx about a week ago, love it so far (im at about 600 miles). The car I had before this one was an 2001 Honda civic Ex, unfortunately she gave out on me around 222,000. With this new car im planning to take it all the way. Soon in the next couple months im planning to add couple things to her such as tints, weather proof mats, etc . So im here to learn from all your experiences with your vehicles.
