In terms of the Civic Type R, there is no problem doing a 5x120.65. If it was vice versa, 5x120 on a Corvette, there will be small strain on the studs but very minimal.LansocK on here is running 19x10 et55 wheels with 295/30/19 tires. Zero clearance issues. So a 19/18 x 9.5 with a 50-60 offset will clear. The only issue may be caliper clearance.
Why would you not want a wider wheel & tire? A larger contact patch is always better.
I see you offer the R902 wheel in 19x9.5 wheels with a 56 offset in 5x120.65 bolt pattern for Corvettes. Is there anyway you can check to see if these clear our Brembo front caliper? I’ll buy them if you confirm this and make them in 5x120 bolt pattern instead of 5x120.65.
Are you able to design a 19x9.5 wheel with a 55 offset that clears the caliper? If so, I’ll buy em. You need 5 people to create this? I don’t see that being a problem at all.
For people that are concerned with scrub radius a 275/35/19 tire on a 19x9.5 wheel with a 55 offset will give you the same scrub radius as factory fk8 wheels & tires.
The NSX wheels with 245/35/19 tires that I keep seeing are close to stock will add 5mm positive scrub radius, so now you go from -2mm scrub radius to positive 3mm. Run a 255/35/19 tire on that NSX wheel and you’ll only gain 4mm scrub radius, so you end up at positive 2mm scrub radius.
The only two wheels, I know of, that are 19x9.5 with a 50 offset, confirmed to clear the brembo calipers are Volk Racing G25 and Advan Racing RSII wheels. These matched with 275/35/19 tires will add 7mm scrub radius so you have a 5mm positive scrub radius.
Seems like this guy would be 1 of the 5 needed to jump on a new wheel design.
Seems like this guy would make 2 of the 5 needed to jump on a new wheel design.
This is the wheel that lead me to finding this thread. My only concern is the caliper clearance & and bolt pattern is 5x120.65 not our 5x120.
5x120.65 on a Type R is fine! There is no strain at all because the lug hole is just a tick bigger.
