I just want to know how people’s cars have been holding up long term with Ethanol. How many miles? Ethanol basemap? Tsp Stage 2? What issues have you had if any? How are your injectors holding up etc. any information will be all taken into consideration.

this thread isn’t just for me, it’s also for people who are skeptical about Ethanol and want more info based on real experiences.

thanks guys

I have been running TSP Stage 2 for over a year now. I have put about 8k on it. No issues at all. Over 7k has been on Map 3 Sport mode. Easy to use, E40 is about half E85 and half 93. The tank holds 12.4 gallons so if it is half full then just put 3 gallons of E85 and top it off with 93. You should come out between E35 and E40 if your E85 has the same amount of alcohol as mine. If you only have a quarter of a tank, then just put in 4 gallons or so of E85 and top it off with 93. Easy Peasy.

California does not have 93. You can get 100 (racing gas) near one of the race tracks, but depending where you live in SoCal, it can be a long drive, and it's over $8 a gallon

91 should be just as fine. You probably could even use 87 but that would be pushing it a bit. The E85 pushes the octane rating up a great deal. That is why it produces more power.

PS I am sure DRob knows that he sells some tunes to California!

I believe both TSP stage 1 and 2 say they were tested using 93, but require a minimum of 91

I have a 2020 Si and was thinking about going ethanol. Would be great to see some reasons as to why, why not, reliability, etc.

The link in the second post of this thread is a good reason not too. Our injectors are temperamental as is. Ethanol seems to only amplify the situation.

So for those who shelled out money for flex fuel kits and TSP Stage 2 tuners are S.O.L. when it comes to using ethanol?

For me, the responsiveness of the engine in low rpm's is the key reason for me to use ethanol. That is also the reason I use TSP map 3 sport mode most of the time. It makes the car feel like it has a higher displacement engine in it with more low end torque. So far, no negatives for me other than making fill ups more complex.

Yeah we put 100 octane in our minibike when we went to Lodi in 2005. It was fun!
