Sad news....

My car may be a total loss. Now.... Don't jump to conclusions.... I was NOT in an Accident.... We received an insane amount of rain where I was staying over on a random Monday. We received 12.8 inches of rain in a span of about 4 hours and the canals over flowed by me on High Tide. (I was not driving)

So I woke up to a flooded car.... I believe it was salt water as well.

Lost my 2008 Civic in 2011 due to flooding. Water up to the hood. I was told if the water goes higher than your axles the car is a total loss. I got about $4,000 more from insurance company than what I could have sold it for on my own if the car was in perfect condition. I was very satisfied with the offer. You should be fine getting your full value from the insurance company. Take the $$ and go buy a new 2020.

Sad...I feel like you just got that CTR, it can't have hardly any miles on it. Let us know what comes of it

Take that stuff off, put the stock stuff back on, get new car, and put that stuff on new car. Should be pretty straight forward!

I am gonna remove as much as I can, but I spent 2.5k on Paint Protective Film, Ceramic Coating, and Window Tinting..... Not that easy....

I also have no idea if they are going to total loss my car yet.

Sucks re your car.

Can’t help you on value. But, I had a totally loss on a Focus RS earlier this year. Car was a 2017 with 20k miles. I bought it new. Progressive paid 2k less than what I had purchased the car for. I made sure they knew what I had paid for ppf, tint and winter tires (rest was stock). I assume they factored in those costs to determine value.

You can also write the policy beforehand to add addendums for stuff like PPF and tint. A lot of carriers will start getting skittish and start thinking about not insuring you for stuff like flashes and engine tuning.

The insurance company told me they will 100% for a fact take my PPF and Ceramic coating under consideration as long as I provide them a receipt.

Side note.... They came to pick up my car today and took it directly to an Auction Yard...... But did not tell me they are going to total my car yet.... I found it odd they were not taking it to a Mechanic.

Probably a holding lot where they can sort through the mess of claims they have. If you're flooded, all their other customers are so they probably try and lump a bunch together to hit all at once. Just a guess but hang in there it sounds like they are working with you so far!

Totally sucks man, hopefully you get a good offer and it works out in your favour so you can go pick up another one!

Depends on ins co. Our Honda Accord was in a flood that put soaking water up to and into the foot wells and into the ECU. State Farm totaled it and paid us $1K more than what we paid new (we got a good deal). And at that point we had 12K miles and a few dents on the car, so it was very generous.

They offered me 34,840.39 :( Not too happy with the offer, and they didn't take my PPF or Ceramic Coating into consideration at all...

Why not? $35k is sufficient in finding a replacement. Only $2-3k off from a brand new one.
