If anyone was curious about how the satin titanium T-S5's would look on a CBP Type R...

Also posted in the Titan7 thread.

Big fan of your setup! What’d you pay for your titan7s? Also any rubbing issues running those with the spoon springs?

I got the 19s from RavSpec for the same price as the 18s since it was around black friday time when I ordered and they were trying to offload the set of 19s. No idea if they'll have any deals like that on titans currently with them not always in stock nowadays, but emailing doesn't hurt.

No issues with rubbing at all.

You basically need 2-4mm more that’s how close we’re talking about here.
oh its all good im used to it and yes I know with additional 2-4mm I'll be ok. Its my daily driver and I'll get another set of rims as this is the only hyper gold ce28n set in the world.

What tire size (Firehawk 500) would have the least amount of rub with 18x9.5 +35 on Spoon or Pro-kit springs, 255/40 or 255/35?

35 for sure

Edit: I personally don't really like the look of 255/35/18 tires though, they make the wheels look too small for the car IMO. Also, a 265/35 might actually be easier to fit than the 255/40 since it's smaller in diameter.

Thanks, but wouldn't the 265's have more of a chance at rubbing? I know Spoons drop isn't as dramatic as say Swifts.

From what I understand, since the 255/40 is taller than the 265/35 it can rub easier as it takes up more space in the wheel well. The tire is narrower, so you may rub less on the width side of things (initial inside wheel well), but it being taller might make you rub on bigger bumps, higher up in the wheel well.

If anyone can explain that better or if I'm wrong feel free to jump in, but that is my understanding.

Ok this makes sense. This guy said he definitely rubbed with the same wheel specs.

Now Im curious how 255/35's look with a moddest drop.

Do you know if he had any rubbing issues?
he does but not major issues. He does do a lot of driving by himself and in R mode so the car stays light and stiff lol. But he said it's pretty much just on hard dips, the rest of the time he's pretty good. He had camber kits planned if it was bad but he hasn't come in for those so pretty sure its manageable
